Tiniest Wedding Reception ever - need suggestions please!

So my wedding reception is just me and my groom.  We want to splash out and have dinner at the most lavish, exciting, gorgeous, romantic restaurant out there.  What places do you like - we are thinking Wynn, Bellagio, The Venetian, etc - because it's just the two of us we are happy to spend some money here.  Hit me with your suggestions!

Thank you!!

  • FI and I will be having our first husband/wife date at the Barrymore. MiX at Mandalay Bay has a stunning view. Which cuisine do you guys like?

  • We both love sushi... we are willing to go for anything - the only foods we won't do - Chinese (I hate it) and Italian (it does nothing for him)... so really we are up for anything.  I have not heard of the Barrymore, must look it up.  I'm tempted to try Le Cirque at Bellagio just because I have always been so awed by the place.
  • I highly recommend MiX for great views and good food. The most expensive restaurant is arguably L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon at MGM Grand. I really enjoyed Sinatra at Encore (cuz Ol Blue Eyes). Delmonico's (Emeril Lagasse) at the Venetian has great steak, but I like the atmosphere at AquaKnox next door better, and they source their steaks from the same place.

For sushi, Yellowtail in Bellagio. Nom nom nom. Big-eye tuna FTW. Get a seat outside for a close-up view of the fountains.

Just as a warning, The Barrymore is in an older hotel just off the Strip. The hotel has been going through renovations and looks nicer inside than out.

    Have a blast!

  • Oh thank you, those are excellent recommendations. Groom and I are having our sit-down this weekend to go over all our options and I will add those to the list!
  • I was just reading your other post - Yellowtail might be a great dinner/Love Bug spot, but the balcony is narrow. You might want to consider Lavo's patio, directly across from TI for good shots of the lagoon if they haven't torn it down yet, broad patio, great food (less expensive), great club after 10 pm.

Or, for something totally different, helicopter tour to dinner or breakfast at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. If I had the money, we'd totally do this for fun. Also random - there are hot air balloon rides that take you across town.

  • You have such great recommendations Cirena! So good having a local on the board!

  • My vote would be for Yellowtail! The sushi there is amazing and the views of the fountains from their patio is great!

  • Yellowtail is definitely winning out so far... i always find sushi to be the MOST romantic meal of all... something about hot sake and beer and sharing little morsels of delicious magic gets me all dreamy and tipsy - so much fun!
  • I love Picasso in the Bellagio. It was the best meal I've ever had, and the artwork is beautiful! Or, you can sit outside with a view of the Bellagio fountains.
  • I'll second Mix; a balcony table has such a great view of the strip from 60 stories up.

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • I've gotten good reviews from friends who have been to Vegas on The Mix, STK, and the Peppermill, i don't think the Peppermill would be up your alley b/c it's not super fancy, I do think we will try it out

  • I <3 The Peppermill! It is NOT fancy. It is kitschy to the hilt! When you go, make sure you do to the Fireside Lounge, not just the main restaurant. Sunken firepit FTW!
The bartenders are old-school, and they can make a great grasshopper.
  • We are currently trying to decide between Yellowtail and Prime at Bellagio.  I desperately want the fountain view and they both have it.  What delightful choices!! :)

Oh I adore The Peppermill!!   My very first trip to Vegas my mom and dad took me there and we sat in the Fireside Lounge and it was just wonderful.  My parents had a very old Vegas romance so they made sure to take me to all the great places that were still around back then and educate me.  It's so sad that so many wonderful places are gone but I am a big old sucker for something new and exciting in Vegas too!  So I'm happy no matter where I am when I'm there. :)
  • I think that is where will go is the Peppermill, we are by far not fancy, so I think if we went to a more classier restaurant we would feel out of place LOL!
