I've been to three separate places to try on dresses. The first place I went to had good customer service (was a small, family owned boutique) - they had a lot of nice dresses, and I looked great in the ones I tried on but they didn't have a selection of the fit of dress I am wanting in my size (fit & flare/mermaid/trumpet) - which I am a bridal 16.
Second place I went to was the "McDonald's" of wedding dresses (I had to laugh when my BM called it that) - I had made an appt a week ahead of time and to say the least the whole appt was chaotic. The girl helping me was maybe 20 years old (she said she just graduated in 2012!) - so she had NO knowledge of inventory, dresses, fit, etc. And on top of that they had her working with another bride during my appt (which is standard, per them) - so lots of my appt I was stuck standing around in dresses I didn't even like waiting for her to come back and assist me.
There was umpteen little girls running around the salon trying on prom dresses - very few of them had parents with them. They told me to pick out favorites online before coming in - which I did - they only had 2 of the 4 dresses there out of the ones I picked - and out of those two they were BOTH size ten. So I couldn't even try them on.

They, again, didn't have many dresses at ALL in the style I want in my size. I asked her to please look up my favorite dress I found online to see which local "Dress McDonald's" had it - I was willing to drive - she went and came back and said the computer isn't pulling up the dress at all - it was saying they don't have that dress. I asked her more questions as to why that was and she said she had no idea - didn't offer to go to the manager to figure it out - nothing. Talk about a let down - especially since I was staring at their website at the dress right then! And the whole appt she kept saying how many minutes we had left. "you have 30 minutes left" - "you have 20 minutes left" - Here I was trying to try on dresses for me and also assist my BM's that were there since they were trying on BM dresses and getting opinions.
The third place I went to yesterday was a smaller local store - the girl didn't even greet us when we came in - didn't pull any dresses for me - we basically looked ourselves, my friend (that had her baby with her) had to help me get the dresses on.
It was just a mess. I am willing to drive to Chicago (2 hours) to try on more dresses there but I am so frustrated right now I feel like I am just going to experience the same thing. I KNOW what kind of dress I want, but no where seems to have them in my size to be able to even try them on!

I am 6'2" and slim, so I am by no means a huge size but it sure does make me feel this way since no one carries my wanted dress style in my size!

One other chain store I called in the suburbs said ALL their samples are 10's and 12's!! So I couldn't even try on anything there if I wanted!
Thanks to anyone that took the time to read this and let me vent...

Signed,
Sad and frustrated bride
