anyone have experience with Wynn eStandby Upgrades?

When I registered for our room online at the Wynn I was given the chance to select an upgrade option - if i pay so much more per night I have the opportunity to get the Parlor Suite at check-in.  I called the hotel to ask them about the difference in cost between doing this through the email and doing it on the phone.  They said that if I call and try to upgrade it would cost more.  If I tick off the little box I won't find out if they are letting me have the upgrade at that price til 48 hours before we check in.

Has anybody used this system and did they get the upgrade they checked off for the low price?  If we were to get the upgrade we'd be getting an amazing value on the room and my fingers are crossed that it happens.  We are arriving on a Monday so I'm hoping that they have the ability to do this.  If it were going to be a weekend stay I'd be more uncertain.  What do you guys think?

I'm WAY too chicken to try the $20 trick at check-in.  Wish I had the ovaries to pull that off!

  • We have gone eStandby for our room/suite at the Elara. I know some people say its a potential waste cos you couldve been upgraded for free, but I think there is definitely more of a chance with eStandby. Im also too chicken to try the $20 trick... you are not alone there. You should have a good chance for the upgrade checking in on a Monday.
