Dance floors for garden wedding?

We are having our celebration in a rose garden. There is an open space where we are planning to put the tables and food that has plenty of grass. Do we need a dance floor? Or can we just get by with dancing in the grass?

Re: Dance floors for garden wedding?

  • Get a dance floor.  I don't know about you but I would not want to be trying to dance in grass while wearing heels.

Also, with a lot of people dancing it could really mess up the grass and the venue may not be too happy about that.

  • Maggie0829, Thanks for your reply!  We were planning to have one, but I am not sure how much dancing is actually going to happen in our early afternoon party, know what I mean? I just don't want it going to waste :)

  • If you plan on having a DJ with music that people can dance to you should have a dance floor.  You may be surprised that people may really want to party it up at your wedding regardless of the time.

If you would rather not have any dancing then have nice background music and no dance floor.

But if you decide to have no dancing then that means no first dance or other spotlight dances for you and your FI.

  • Good points! Thanks! :)
  • We had a noon wedding followed by a 1pm reception.  The dance floor was packed.
