Those who have gotten your license

We are trying to plan our times around a few things, tux fittings and getting our license. Those who have either picked up their license from either doing it online first or just going in and picking it up? Do they just take the info that is on the application from either online or what you fill in there and just print it out?

    Everyone here recommends doing the pre-app online!
    We just did yesterday and it gives you a confirmation number. that's all you need to bring to the marriage bureau and your IDs of course!
    Our wedding day also marks our 11th anniversary of being together :)

    thanks! do they just take the info from the pre-app input it in the computer and print off your license? just wondering how the process works lol!

    we did the pre-app and when we went to get our license we were there less than 5 minutes. You give them your IDs and confirmation number and they had everything in the computer.

    Definitely don't wait to fill the app out in person, it can take hours.  Do pre-app online, bring photo ID and cash, and if it's a good day, you'll be in and out in ten minutes.

    Definitely do the pre-app and keep your confirmation number on your phone in your notes or somewhere so you can't lose it and have it handy. When we went there were two lines. One for those that did the pre-app online and one for those that did the app in person. The line was long and moving very slow for the ones that didn't do it online. We were in and out in 5 mins. They already have all the info in the computer and they pull that up with your confirmation number. You give them your ID's, pay cash, they give you the license and your outta there :) Now keep in mind, some chapels give you a 'souvenir' marriage certificate. THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE you need to change your name and ID. You will need to order that online probably 10-14 days after the wedding depending on how soon the officiant files it with the clerk. Ours filed a few days after so we lucked out :)

    after reading these comments im worried!
    I dont know anyone that has a compatible computer to do the pre app. Is there ayway to work around it that anyone knows of? I really do not want to be stuck for hours taking care of it all the day before our wedding.

    Valerie, there's a fix for that :) Those that have issues with compatibility on their computer just need to go to their internet explorer, on the top toolbar click 'tools' then scroll down to Compatibility View and make the selections to view everything and ta-da back in business!

    Was just at the license place and gave them our confirmation number they made us look over the certificate, gave them the cash n we were out of there in less then two minutes, we went on a thursday around 1pm
