Just got off the phone with the HR manager for Levy Restaurants (they control all the hospitality for a bunch of place in Los Angles). The position that he is interested in me for is Senior Suites Manager at The Staples Center (they house a little known basketball team called the Lakers, as well as MANY concerts and events). Wow! I know it'll be super stressful and a lot of work, but it sounds like it could be fun!
I totally bean-dipped the question about salary expectations too (because I don't want to low-ball myself) and explained that since the location is a much farther drive than I'm used to and that it will involve many more hours than I am putting in at my currently hourly position that I'd want compensation to reflect that.
Meeting with Mary, the Director of Suites on Tuesday. The other good news in that is that Mary ALSO comes from a retail background (like me!) so we should have lots to discuss!
Mainly I'm just happy that my job search seems to be providing results. The sooner I get a new job the sooner I can leave my current one (read: tell my shitty boss where to stick it).
