Veil for VW351011 in blush

Hi everyone!

For my November wedding, I am wearing VW351011 from David's Bridal in blush. It's in Vera Wang's White line. I am in LOVE with this dress. My mom talked me into a champagne and crystal sash for it, since my colors are champagne, blush, and ivory. However, now I'm having a huge problem with trying to find a veil for this dress. Especially since I already have two different colors going on.

I know I don't want three different colors going on at once, so I may decide against wearing the sash and going with an ivory veil. Or I may decide to go with a blush veil. But blush ones are really hard to find, and there doesn't seem to be anything that I can physically look at in a store. And would a blush veil with a blush dress be too much of a good thing? Too matchy-matchy?

I'd really like to wear a veil, but I suppose I could always do a pretty blush flower or headpiece instead.

I'm attaching a couple pics of my dress. I think the photo represents the in-person color pretty closely. It's a nice soft blush.

Thanks a lot!!

  • With this style of dress I personally would skip the long veil and do a hair piece. Something to go along with the sash perhaps.
  • That dress is very dramatic. I think a sash and/or a veil will diminish that drama. Skip the sash and go with a hair piece. FWIW, I work a colored dress too and chose large silk flower hair clips that had a visual impact similar to a veil but matched my dress.
  • I found some pictures that might help you picture it.

  • Thanks everyone! Very helpful advice. At this point, I found a headpiece I really like. If I do a veil, it'll probably be a very simple long ivory one, so it doesn't take away from the dress itself. So I'll go with one of those two options. And I'll probably skip the sash and give it to my MOH, my sister, to wear. That way the sash my mom bought for me still gets used! It should look beautiful on her dress, and will allow her to stand out from the other bridesmaids a bit.

I just did a little google image searching and came across this one. Same dress as yours and a blush veil. Personally, I think blush on blush like this is a bit much. I've never been one to stress too much about things matching, though. I prefer the white veils in the pictures of PP.

But, in spite of that... Why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me... It says, 'Search for Paradise.' " - Kiba, Wolf's Rain

Thank you so much! This really helped reinforce my decision to not do blush on blush!
