Amazing Tampa Photographer, So Affordable! Blue Star Photography

My husband and I got married last year and had a very small ceremony and reception, but I just had to share about our wedding photographer Rebecca Mackesty.  We even did some anniversary pics with her recently because we loved her work so much!

The name of her company is Blue Star Photography, website is http://bluestartampaphotography.com  She was SO affordable, she did 2 hours of wedding photos for us for $200!  Our wedding photos came out fantastic too!  We're actually one of her featured couples (I'm the Korean girl with the white husband :) LOL  I know her prices have changed since then but I guess she is doing this new thing where you can tell her what you want to spend and how many hours you need and anything else.  The form for this is right on the website.

Anyway, she was very flexible and affordable.  We even started our wedding an hour late, she never complained about this and never affected her work or attitude!  I would definetly reccomend Rebecca Mackesty and Blue Star Photography to any Tampa bride looking for awesome photos for a great price!

OMG thanks so much for sharing!  This sounds like exactly what we need!  We are on a fixed budget and every other photographer we've talked to hasn't been willing to budge on their prices.  I'm going to try her "Name Your Price" package thing and hopefully it will work out.  I like what I see so far of her photos.  Does she respond to emails quickly?  We've got a really popular wedding date....

I thought the same thing and PMed here. I can take it down if it bothers anyone. Just say the word.

Well you know what. I got a PM from a vendor wondering WHY I reported a post his "customer" made as it was legit. I stated she gave no proof of service like photos or cost or how he made the day easy. He tried to dig me for it and I stated vendors are not welcome, he made me feel uneasy seeking my name and what not as well. I wish there was a rule that only vendor rating posts could be done after the weddings. JMHO

ShakeUpTampa (love the name), i agree, i see posters come  just to brag about certain vendors with no actual experience with them or any photos from their wedding, it all seems a little suspicious, I also agree that reviews should be done after the fact and not before, It doesn't really help anyone otherwise.

candiceandmike10, do you have pictures from your wedding to show us? At least everyone here will know that you are a bride and not a vendor.
    Just my .02

I should be moving the heck out of here to the nest, but i can't make myself leave lol

It doesn't bother me b/c you can so tell when it's a vendor or a bride (in my opinion) and I find it kind of comical when it is a vendor b/c it's blatantly obvious just the subject line is a dead giveaway.

I don't have problems with people posting links of different vendors they found or they will be using before their wedding b/c well that's how we find out about a lot of vendors out there that we would otherwise not know about.

Brides get excited about finding different vendors and want to share but that's also how we learn new things.....  I don't think there is any way to control that and don't see anything wrong with it.

it's pretty suspicious when someone comes to give a review on one vendor and they only have 1 or 2 other posts. this whole thing seemed staged to me lol.

Well....it's also suspicious when they created profiles on the same day they posted too, lol! ;)

HA! Wow, I really didn't see it. I usually can tell, but I couldn't this time. Geez. I guess my best advice would be to only trust a vendor you've seen multiple positive reviews/posts or Wedding Wire ratings for.

I may be putting myself out on a limb here, but we did contact this photographer and she was really nice and helpful when we spoke.  We are actually going to be using her for our wedding and engagement photos since we liked her work and was able to work with our budget.  All I had to do was a simple google search and found info on her on wedding wire and some other websites.  Of course you should never trust just one review.  I think maybe some of you are jumping to conclusions about this being a vendor post.  But, hey even if it is, you know it helped me out.  Who knows, maybe it will help others like us as well.  Not everyone can afford a $5000 wedding photographer.  Here's to hoping that I can work the rest of my budget out!  Any suggestions on cheap but not tacky reception locations?
