NWR: Millionaire Matchmaker

I originally began "watching" this for something in the background while I clean or play around on the internet but now I have actually become interested in it *sigh*

Re: NWR: Millionaire Matchmaker

  • I've never watched that show but I think I've heard of it. Do they match a regular person up with a millionaire?

Yes that's basically the idea. Although it seems like the "regular" person has to have a decent income though
  • I should check it out, it sounds like it would be a pretty funny show.

  • @pinkcow You should. Some episodes are meh but some are funny. Patti (the match maker is funny at times and she does have some episodes (not full episodes though) in season 6 where you find out more about her and her bf and her past.
  • I read about that, and she claims to have like a 95% match rate, but the show statistics are like 5%. (this isn't the first date, but like a long term relationship)... (I can't post any links because it is being blocked at work)

I think it's an interesting show though.

I used to watch it a lot and I noticed that when she matches up a millionaire man with a "normal" woman, the women he gets to choose from are usually much younger "models" or "actresses". When she matches a millionaire woman, the men she gets to choose from are usually successful and have more "normal" careers (banker, real estate, etc) I have not seen it lately, though.

  • I like the interview sessions, when she tells some poor girl that she'll add her to the mixer if she dyes and straightens her hair and gets some cleavage.  Some of these girls are pretty clueless and Patti can be quite funny and direct with what she tells them

  • I find myself watching this too and I'm like "Darn, when's the next episode?!" LOL, it's interesting.
  • I like watching it occasionally. Sometimes shes a bit...sexist but she'll call out the guys when they're being dicks, so I like that.

Yeah I noticed that but in the seasons I am watching it seems like she got away from that a little bit. Still does it some but not as much

Yeah I am glad she doesn't have to analyze me. Haha

Yeah I ended up downloading it :/  Now I don't have to wait for the next episode (until I catch up)

YES! I laugh so hard at some of them. Especially when they get that stupid look on their face when she's yelling at them

Good to hear! I was tired of watching it because it was just fulfilling the prophecy of the stereotype that older, succesful men only want younger, gorgeous women with no skills.
