Can we talk email addresses?

Are you changing your email address once you are married? Are you only changing the name on the account so it appears as Kelly Newlastname?

What is everyone doing? I've already made a new account but I can't decide if I just want to start forwarding mail or what.

I have a new one already. I haven't started moving things, but once I'm married I will. Just easier for me, I have way too many e-mails as it is.

My business email address luckily only uses my first name so I should be okay with that one. </div><div>
</div><div>I know that when my name/email address changes at work what they will do is for 6 months set the old address to forward to the new one and then after that period it's the new one only. Maybe you can do something similar with your personal accounts?</div>

<div>See I think I am just going to forward stuff from my new account to my old account. I have gmail so I can set it up so that I can keep my current inbox but have everything display from kelly newlastname. Just do that for a while and then move stuff over. I just figured out you can't import gmail to gmail. BOOO!</div>

I have 4 email addresses, and there is no way I can possibly change them. I get way too many emails. Plus, my personal email isn't my name anyways, so it's fine how it is.

I made a new one already. It felt kind of weird to do it cause it's still so far away until I'm actually Donna NewLastname, so I'm waiting until it gets closer to the wedding before I start telling people and using it for any of my accounts. My old email though gets so much junk mail it'll be nice to hopefully start fresh and keep all that junk out. I know, probably just wishful thinking.

I made a new through gmail because I would like to transfer over to them anyways. I have my first one that I still use and then my sld0618 one that is "wedding" related. Which I could still just use my sld because my initials will not change with my new last name. I'll probably change over to my new gmail after I get married. I'm just getting a lot of spam on both of my other accounts. Time for a change!

Why did you choose GMail? My current one is with Yahoo and I made my new one to Yahoo too but is it better for any reason?

<div>I had yahoo and still have a "spam" account there. Once you move over to gmail you will realize how much better it is then yahoo. It has tons of cool features plus *almost* everyone I know has gmail so you can chat in your email. It's nice. </div>

I will be changing mine to another gmail account. I also need to change my work email which is going to be incredibly annoying I imagine. I need new ID bagdes, new business cards....ugh. Name changing doesn't sound like much fun.

This and it's recognized a little bit more for being a "professional" account. Both of my other emails are with yahoo, nothing knocking it, easy, love it, just wanted something more.

Gmail is awesome. I've been on it since 2006 and I can't imagine using anything else!

I have to say, I never even thought of this! I probably will change mine. My current one is my first and last name, and sometimes I wish it was slightly more anonymous. Although once wedding planning is over, I hope to use it way less so who knows.

I'm not sure if I'm going to change my work email address...I am adding FI's last name to mine with a hyphen...I'm wondering if I should just change the display name but not the actual email address. I am the person that handles all computer related stuff so I can just foresee the nightmare of trying to get all that done and working correctly so that nothing is missed. I'll have to ask my boss what he wants me to do.

I just thought about this last week, because my gmail is my first and middle initial and my last name, so i went and made a new one, but my new last name is WAY more common than my current one, so i didn't get anything as simple as my current one- i had to add numbers.

I am probably just going to forward stuff from my old email to my new and change stuff and start using the new one after the wedding.

I have a friend who is getting married this summer whose email is her first and last name, so I just asked her if she was going to change her email, and it hadn't occurred to her yet either.

And I agree, name changing seems like a pain in general, but at least once its done, its done, right?
