Silverware

What do people use to put silverware in if you are having a buffet rather than a sit down meal? I am wondering if we should buy something to put the silverware in so it is not just sitting out on the table where the plates are.

    I would have the silverware along with napkins, water goblets and wine glasses (if you are having wine service with dinner) already be set on the guests table.

    You don't want your guests fumbling with silverware while trying to serve them self in the buffet line.

    We had stations, but the table was set normally. That's how I would handle it.

    At every wedding I've been to that had a buffet the table was completely set with the exception of the dinner plate and maybe a salad plate.

    I agree with other posters that it should just be on the table. Carrying anything more than a plate while dressed up and possibly in heels is too much to ask of people.
