Name Place-Cards and food choices

Hello.

My fiance and I have sent out our wedding invites and RSVP cards.  On the cards, we have food choices listed (chicken, pork, vegetarian and kids).

People who have been responding, have been putting either an X by the one they want or the number of how many of each dish.  Our dilemma is on RSVP cards that have 2 or more people coming, there are 2 or more different entrees marked off.

Question...do we call the people and ask who wanted what or do we just do our best to guess who ordered what?  We are wondering because we need to put markers on the cards so that our servers know what dish to bring which people.

Did I just do a HUGE fax-paux when it comes to a reception dinner?

  • I would call and ask.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I would call and ask
  • I called/emailed/facebook messaged the guests when that happened to us.  No big deal.

  • just call and ask or worse case they rsvp'd together, meaning they will be sitting together. They can always switch plates if needed, but do your best to contact them.

    Anniversary
  • Thanks everyone.  I feel much better knowing that I haven't done a fax-paux!  I have looked through the stack of RSVP's and there are just a few I will have to ask about.

      Thank you again!
  • You could do one escort card per couple and then put both meal choices on the back. If they're sitting next to each other it won't really matter who had what.

Kids would be a different situation.

  • 95% of our guests failed to initial their entree selections and just put an X or a number.  We did one escort card for each couple.
