We hired an officiant and provided her with a deposit in August, for our May 2014 wedding. She cashed the check and I haven't heard from her since, which I didn't see an issue with until two months ago. In January I sent her an email so that we could get the ball rolling on writing our ceremony. I waited three weeks, no response. I then called and left her a voice mail, it has now been a month with no response. I found her company on Facebook, and sent her a message, two weeks no response. I called the emergency contact provided on our contract this week, no response. It has now been two months since I have tried every means possible to contact her.
I have gone ahead and found someone else because I do not trust her to even show. Does anyone know what legal recourse we have to get our deposit back, we signed a contract but it states nothing about refunds. It truly appears that she has stolen our money.
