BM shoes: same or similar style in different heel heights

Hello,
I gave my BM's free reign over their shoe choice, and only asked that they wear a shoe that they LOVED or HAD to have. They've all requested that I choose the shoe, or the color, or the style, etc. I've given them ideas on what I think is cute, but left it open to suggestions and changes, but I haven't gotten any so I think they want me to just pick a shoe. Although, I'm still trying to get them to choose those own, (w/ 80 days until the wedding, I really am not trying to add to my list of decisions to make) but I'm willing to give them another suggestion.

I'm looking for similar shoes, or even the same shoe, but in different heel heights. Nine West does this for some of their work appropriate shoes, but I can't find the same options (affordable) for evening shoes. Any ideas or recommendations for where to find heel height options?

Thanks in advance!

Re: BM shoes: same or similar style in different heel heights

  • I would suggest just giving them a color. I'm doing the same thing with my BM's; they can choose whatever shoe they wanted, but they wanted me to choose a color, so I chose black (the dresses are a royal blue). They asked me for more details, but honestly, I really do not care what they have on their feet as long as they're comfortable! I had to repeat that a few times before I think they really believed me. Also, some of them may wait until the last minute to get her shoes, so if you pick a popular color (and don't make them dye the shoes or anything), I'd just leave it as "Get black dress shoes" or whatever and then just leave it be. Your girls definitely have time to find shoes, especially if you leave it so open!

Maybe they are confused and think that they need to all pick the same shoe which is why they want you to choose the shoe. Clear the possible confusion by saying that the shoes don't need to be the same.

It might help if you pick a neutral colour that they are likely to already have a shoe in that colour. I told my BMs I thought black, silver or nude would look best with the dress, and they decided together that they would all wear black shoes, because they all already had black shoes.

  • Just tell them a colour (black, nude, etc.) that either they're likely to own or likely to wear again.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
  • I agree on just giving a color. If you want to provide examples that you like, include a few heights.
