Make-up

So my make-up girl isn't answering my texts.  I don't have a deposit or contract since I've known her for a while (she grooms my eyebrows).  My fault there.  I am going to call her tonight and say "if you don't want to do it, tell me now so I can find someone else."  Oh, and I know it's the correct number since she answered a text last month about my eyebrows.

Grrr.

Re: Make-up

  • How many texts have you sent in how long a period of time? And when is your wedding?

But yes, that's SUPER frustrating and annoying.

  • I sent her one on Monday asking her schedule so we can do the trial.  I've seen her work already so I know she's "good."  Then I resent it last night with "not sure if you got this text."  Wedding is March 30th.
  • So you're down to the wire for needing to firm this up, got it. (Sorry, I knew your wedding was soon, but without a ticker, I'm fuzzy on people's exact dates).

I'd send her one more, today, and say, 'I need to hear from you, definitively, by the end of business today* to confirm that you are, in fact, available and willing to do my make-up for my wedding. If I don't hear from you by the end of business today,* I will be booking someone else.'

*or tomorrow or whenever date you want to put in there. I'd do today, because it's already March 6, and your wedding is just over three weeks away, which is not a lot of time to find a new MUA and get a trial scheduled.

I'm so sorry -- this is so frustrating!

  • Ugh. That's so irritating and unprofessional when people do not respond in a timely manner. I get irritated if I do not hear back in 2-3 days, so I don't blame you. I'm glad that your photographer gave you the name of someone else, though. Hopefully they are more reliable!

Why don't you call her? Or show up at her place of business to discuss this with her? Texting can be weird. She could have lost her phone, or changed her phone number. Email would even be a better option than texting. I'd call the salon and make an appointment for my eyebrows to be done and discuss/firm up details with her (WITH A CONTRACT!!!!) at that time.

Reading Fail: I'm having a screwed up day and drinking + knotting. Saw you are calling her tonight. If that doesn't work either find someone else or just go to her salon.
