Call my wedding tacky one more time B*! vent

In a matter of 2 minutes a lady I work with must have referred to my wedding as tacky 100 times.  I was discussing (with someone else) how my grandmother is the biggest elvis fan and how I wanted to incorporate that somehow, for her, and because I feel like it goes well with our Vegas theme.  However, we don't want elvis at our ceremony of reception, because we are keeping those event a little more formal.  This lady goes on and on about how my wedding is already tacky because its in vegas, and I just need to own my tacky vegas wedding.  That there is no way they can be nice because they are all the same and over done in vegas, and how our she believe weddings in vegas are doomed to fail from the start.  Going on and on and on. 

I lost it, I told her I happen to be very proud of my very UNIQUE las vegas wedding, and that I didn't think it was tacky because i was properly hosting my guest.  instead of, I don't know, having a potluck reception and a gift card wedding shower.  (which are two things she did) 

 

She gets all butt hurt and says, wow someone needs to take a chill pill and not be such a bridezilla.

 

WTF!

    The fact that she listens in to someone else's conversation and then chooses to comment on it says about all we need to know about her; every office has a few of those.

    Oh I would of went off on her lol just like VG said, She has no room to talk about being tacky when she is being so nosy to get involved in a conversation that she wasn't a part of in the first place!
    Vegas weddings in my opinion have became just as nice as any other wedding. You should be proud of your wedding, shoot I know I am! Every person that I have talked to about my wedding details has always complimented me on how nice it is going to be. That lady was just hating!

    I came in this post fists swinging! Ive had similar comments made about my wedding and I just brushed them off at the time but I just DARE someone to go there now that im at thepeak of my bridezilla moment. What a nasty little rude bitch you encountered. Sounds like her wedding was the epitome of tacky.

    I don't think Vegas wedding's are tacky, people think potluck receptions are tacky...heck our first idea was to do it in our back yard ( we have 3 acres) have a potluck, couple of kegs and have a blast! We then moved it up to a super formal place here locally and my sister and cousin were going to make the food but ultimately we decided on Vegas ...i look at it this way...wedding's should be filled with joy, you are marrying the man of your dreams, who gives a flying eff what the guests think! I was just talking to a lady yesterday she is a HMU here, and every bride has said that they are just glad it's over with b/c they were stressed about everything and i was the first bride that came in, in years and was completely calm about everything didn't go overboard on anything and kept my goal of having a blast. Sorry she did that to you.

    I am so happy I haven't had someone say that to me!!  I may or may not punch someone if they did.  Who cares if it's tacky (even though it isn't!!)?

    There's a great post on another board that everything is tacky. Don't let her push your buttons. Your wedding is about YOU and your LOVE. <hugs>

    And no, we're not all tacky here... (as I look at invitations addressed without Mr and Mrs, and with nicknames instead of full names - tacky!)

    Oh boy! Then she would have a tacky free for all with me and my maids wearing cowboy boots and short dresses! Lol. There was a time when vegas wedding were considered tacky and drunken. We're far from those days. If she'd like to pay our bills for t his so called tacky wedding she can call it whatever she wants! Maybe she's jealous she wasn't invited to your fun fest! Or maybe she's just a negative person in general. Either way, who cares, it's about you!

    hahaha!!! i totally didn't do all the invitations with mr & mrs my friends didn't care LOL!!!

    I get SO offended by those comments because I LIVE HERE. My "Vegas wedding" is just MY wedding because I happen to LIVE IN LAS VEGAS. People can be so close minded!!!

    Ugh, we had a good time at her expense after she left.  I am not sure why, but she feels like everyone needs to know her opinion.  She is our community league partner for our school and I am a PE teacher, she read and article about how PE can actually improve students test scores and brought the information to me, so I can "continue to learn in my career."  WTF?! Just the type of person she is.  I saw her later and she asked if our little bridezilla has calmed down any, and that it should be about the commitment and not the details.  Again, WTF!?  I haven't stressed over any details, mostly because we are skipping most details.  NO flowers, center pieces, bridesmaids, hair and make up...Because its just really not important to me.  I think she is really butt-hurt because she didn't really get a bridal shower here at work, I chose not to have one and they threw me a suprise one.  We pay a hospitality dues here, and she didn't pay one.  She gets engaged and suddenly wants a shower but hasn't paid her dues.  The decided to throw her one, and she still invites everyone to he (self thrown) bridal shower (giftcards only).  So no one went to her at home shower and I guess only two people ended up going to the work one. My suprise shower was huge, I was really touched.  It meant a lot to me, because I am being transfered at the end of the school year and I have a lot of close friends here.  IDK, just a guess bitches be hatin! lol

    I love my "tacky" Vegas wedding.  I have not stressed about any details, I love that we can keep our guess list smallish and celebrate such a wonderful time in my life with friends and family in a crazy fun way.  I really want to tacky it up, by somehow added elvis, I just don't know how that will work right now.
