Dodged a (cash bar) bullet!

I'm getting married in a few weeks (yay!) at a local ski & golf resort, and have an awesome coordinator who has done everything from the wedding stuff to hotel rooms and shuttles. I was emailing with her today about shuttle times, and I received an email that said, "Some guests will arrive to the ceremony a little earlier due to shuttle times. But no worries, we have refreshments for them or a cash bar if they need a drink."

I just about crapped my pants when I read that.  I would have been mortified to find out after the wedding, especially since A) that's just poor etiquette and B) we already have an open bar as part of our reception package. I'm so glad she said something early enough for me to catch it.

  • Detailed emails FTW! Good bullet to dodge, the guests that arrive earlier will definitely appreciate that the small window before the ceremony is hosted.

It shocks me that people assume that you would be okay with a cash bar.

It's not like a string quartet would say, "when people arrive, we are going to play polka music, but once the ceremony starts, we will switch to Cannon in D major per your request."

Edited because I don't understand spelling.
