limo question

So the night of our wedding we will be going to Hakkasan located inside MGM and I'm thinking of getting a limo since there will be a group of us going. Anyone know a limo company that would take us just 1 way?

Re: limo question

  • For just a one way ride, easier to just book it with the concierge or valet stand.  Probably will be about $70.  Typically MGM could probably have a limo available within five minutes but call in advance to make sure they can do it around a certain time just as a precaution.  We've taken limos on the fly from Mandalay and Palms pretty frequently and never had an issue so I figure MGM is probably the same.

  • I don't know if we go lucky or what but I remember when I was there back in August, there happened to be a limo outisde of the LVH and it took us to TAO for 20 bucks! I'm not looking to spend more then30-40 I think it would be cheaper getting a cab lol We are staying at Flamingo so it's not too far from MGM.

  • I agree with VGs advice. They can probably offer cheaper rates on the fly than pre booked

Oh, I was meaning $70 max after tip; when we're talking a 15 minute door to door ride I've typically been charged a pre-negotiated (with the driver) amount of somewhere in the $30 to $50 range and I typically just give a $20 tip to try and bring me good luck at the craps table. :-)

  • You can get limos and taxis from the taxi stand at almost any Strip hotel. Simply ask at the taxi stand, there's usually someone there managing the cabs.

If you don't want to wait, call the concierge as you're getting ready to leave to have your ride waiting. :) Also, tips do go a long way.

Note that you can't hail a cab on the streets in Las Vegas. It's so sad to see tourists waving frantically at taxis along the Strip that constantly whiz by and can't, by law, pick them up on the street.

  • So I would contact the concierge at the hotel I'm at for a limo? Or the hotel I want to go to?

I learned about that law a few years ago we went to eat at the IHOP near stratosphere at about 3 am and I was pretty out of it and decided let's walk back to circus circus (horrible hotel lol) well I ended up re getting the walk so my FI waved down a taxi while we were at a light and they yelled out to hurry and get in lol the driver told us and bout that law once we jumped inside. We got lucky.

Thanks for all the suggestions I'll be contacting the concierge :)

  • The limos at MGM might be in high demand b/c of the fight....are you leaving from Flamingo?  I would see if they have one.

We got really lucky at Planet Hollywood once, there was like 20 of us going to Ghost Bar and there was a party bus, he charged us like $5 a head and even drove up and down the strip a couple times.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • Well I'm hoping the fight will be over by the time we head over to MGM. We will be leaving from flamingo by 9:20
    I'm hoping there's a limo available!
$5 a head for a party bus is a deal!!

  • Contact the concierge at YOUR hotel because that's where you want the limo to show up. The earlier you call, the better chance you have of getting the limo on time. It's not a question of if you can get a limo, just a question of when. :)
  • So how far ahead of time would you suggest I call?
Thanks for your help too! :)

  • I was wondering the same thing thanks for posting
  • I'd say give yourself at least half an hour, maybe an hour on the safe side. And you can always ask the concierge when you go by on your way to the room how long they usually need.
  • Oh ok cool thanks! :)

  • Good news bad news, the title fight usually starts about 10pm so you should be in the club before the fight starts (maybe less crowded?) but that might jack up the limo service if people are going late to the fight.

  • Oh no! Dang it. I wonder if I would be better off booking a limo in advance. Hmmm
