Needing new Recomendations for Hair & Makeup ASAP!

I am in need of a new place to book for hair & makeup. I have been in contact with Smart & Chic for months now. They say they have me booked for my wedding but still have no idea the stylist or trial date. I've been emailing & calling. Each time I call their mail box is full. I am getting so frustrated and my wedding is in 23 days!!! I'm ok with going in the day of to have services done, location is Forest Lake. HELP PLEASE!!

    Bummer about S&C... The lack of communication is why I found someone else also.

    For a MUA, I'm using Ana Martignetti.  <---Clicky.  She does a great job, will travel to you & is priced similarly to S&C.  Here's my trial before & after with her...



    Hair stylist is a family friend, so I don't have any recommendations on that front.  Good luck Andria!  = )

    I can't believe you are having that many problems with them.  It makes me very nervous.  I already have my trial date set up and my stylist assigned.  My stylist emails me back ASAP but if I email Anita...it takes FOREVER!!  Still haven't heard back from her when I emailed her a couple days ago.  Makes me wonder if I should switch?!?!?

    Considering how big the Knot website was for their business, they would have to be pretty dumb to actually leave you high and dry. That is weird that you haven't heard back- well not unusual unfortunately, I personally don't have issues but they do need to revamp their system/hire another person to help with scheduling and whatnot.

    Anyways, some other options for you: Mariahs Beauty Marks, and Quincygirl had someone that did a fantastic job for her for a different event, maybe she can give you the name, I can't recall offhand???

    I have no experience with these salons for hair/makeup (I've used LaGrande for day spa services), but I live near F.Lake and I've heard good things about hair/makeup at the salons below (names are clicky):


    My stylist works out of a different salon in Blaine but she has friends that work at LaGrande and she has had lots of good things to say about them. I'm crossing my fingers that S&C pulls through (I would be freaking out too!) but if they don't, I think LaGrande would be a safe bet.

    I'm sorry to make you worry. I'm just frustrated that I don't even have my trial set and no confirmation that my date is set with them. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you have your trail set & stylist.

    I go to Five Two Six Salon in Saint Paul. they have la gallery area where you and your BMs can get ready. If you don't mind going to the Salon.

    Thanks!! I knew about LaGrande but didn't know they did makeup too! I'm going to call both of them today to see if they have availability!! Let's hope they do!

    Sorry you having such problems, but also not surprised.  Thankfully I have the email of my MUA so I just communicate through her and she is fantastically prompt.  It frustrates me though that as a company this is the level of customer service they are providing!  One really should be able to expect more from the 2011 MN Bride's Best Makeup and Hair winner.

    I've used the same MUA that MikeNAndi is using and she did a great job.

    Thanks! I'll contact her and see what she knows. I'm glad you had a great experience. Question is it just you getting hair & makeup done on your wedding or are you having more people too? I'm wondering if I've been brushed off since it would be just me getting hair & makeup.

    I'm getting just my hair done w/ S&C... I have 6 girls doing their hair only too and a makeup artist doing makeup.... I don't think they'd brush you off it's still $100+ for hair & makeup for one?! Let me know how it goes! Dawn is great!

    OP--try using their FB page.  I had called and left messages and was getting no response but as soon as I put something about my issues on their FB they called me within a few hours.  Once I found out who my stylist was I started emailing her instead.  Anita does take forever.
