Anyone watch The Bachelor last night? *spoilers*

Super embarrassed. It's totally a guilty pleasure.

First, I was so distracted by Claire's earrings she wore to the final rose ceremony. They did not work with that dress. I think it's awesome what she said to him and I loved that she didn't even want to talk to him after. Nikki, Nikki, Nikki. How is she OK being with that slimeball!?!  They way he spoke to Chris Harrison was so incredibly rude.

  • When Chris was asking about love, The Slimeball kept saying how you shouldn't say you're in love. You keep it to yourself apparently. Ugh!

  • Right, but it's totally different to go on TV to "find a wife".
  • OMG, what a trainwreck. I can't stand Nikki but I felt so bad for her sitting there on TV with Juan refusing to say he loved her and was interested in a future with her. I mean, yeah, the show is ridiculous and getting engaged so quickly is a bit absurd, but you can still manage not to be a total dick.
  • Last night was the first time I watched 'The Bachelor,' so I don't know who is who. My impression was that Juan Pablo is a jerk and Nikki is desperate. I kept hoping she'd follow Clare's example and leave him sitting there alone with the host. I'm glad I didn't invest more time in this show.

    I love Juan Pablo's family.

Your impression was right on. I kept hoping she'd get up from the couch and kick him in his smug face.
  • I don't watch the Bachelor, but I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about how even the producers were ready for this season to be over because that Pablo dude is so ridiculous and smug. That made me giggle.
  • Sooo many things wrong with this season!! Claire annoyed me all season but I loved her in the final episode. I think she def matured a bit since the show ended bc she didn't sit there and dwell on what happened. She made her peace and is done with it.

Juan Pablo! Yes I think he is a jerk and a slime ball and uses his language barrier as an excuse for some of the offensive things he says.
But at the same time I feel like he may really care about Nikki but just not be ready to say he loves her. Not everyone falls in love in such a short perid of time, some people move slow and I wish he would have said that to Chris Harrison instead of just beating around the damn bush. If Chris Harrison asked him if he loved her one more time I was going to throw crap at my tv. Obviously his answer wasn't going to change after the 20th time he said it.

I think he went on the bachelor and found himself a girlfriend and not a wife.
  • Did the host mention that some of women chose to leave 'the game' early? I would assume it was because of the things that shrekspeare mentioned.

From what I've read, it was. Lots of slut-shaming and flat out disrespecting the women on the show. Granted I didn't watch it, ClimbingBride could give us more insight?
Yes. Andi left the show after the overnight date. She basically said that Juan Pablo is a huge self centered jerk and she didn't want to be around him anymore.

Charlene also left the show early. I missed that episode so I don't know exactly what happened.
  • I don't like the premise of this show. Thirty? women competing for the attention of one man. How in the world do you fall in love with someone, who's trying out several other women, or men on the bachelorette version?

I love junk realityTV, but this show never really appealed to me.

Exactly! And I don't understand how it doesn't mess with them mentally. How do you say yes to a proposal from someone you know has been making out with twenty something other people just a few days and weeks prior. And probably slept with at least one other person in the fantasy suite just a week prior!
  • Oh, the show creates a completely artificial and absurd situation. I don't think they should push the guys to propose at the end at all. It's just setting them up for failure and heartbreak. I'm still hooked, though.
  • I was most disappointed by the fact that they chose Andi as the next bachelorette. Don't like her at all and will have no desire to watch next season. I loved Nikki right from the beginning. She cares about him a lot and she's happy, I don't think they need to define their relationship to anyone. And, as for what everyone else thinks of her, no one can argue that she makes one daaaaaaaaaaymn fine piece of arm candy. So glad he didn't pick Claire, she is such a sore loser even though Nikki clearly surpasses her in EVERY category.
  • Yeah, she's a pediatric nurse. Why the need to reduce her to just arm candy?

I wouldn't call Clair a sore loser. She confronted JP the night before about her feelings. He could have been honest. Instead he lied and played that song for her.
  • Not reducing, but everyone keeps saying they've lost respect for her. So what if she just wants to have fun and date the guy and be gorgeous? Can't argue with that, she could have her pick of men I'm sure and she has lots of time to settle down.

It's the whole point of the experience for the girls not to know who is going to win. Just because he said he could see a future with Claire doesn't mean he was telling her he was going to choose her. That seems to be what she got from it. At least Nikki was a little more humble about the whole thing and not totally entitled the ENTIRE time.
