Etiquette on Invitations

Hi everyone,

So I am working on ordering my invitations and I'd like to know what the correct etiquette is regarding double envelopes, and insert cards with more details on them.  I actually sent EVERYONE who is invited to the wedding a STD so they have my wedding website info already, but should I put it on the insert again just to be safe?

Thanks,

Holly

Re: Etiquette on Invitations

  • An inner envelope is not necessary.  I find them completely pointless and just make the invite bulky meaning more money on postage.

As for your wedding website, you could include it on the bottom of an insert card (say if you had one for accommodations or the like) but it isn't necessary since you already gave that information out on your STD.

Insert cards are beneficial to supply important information to your guests.  Not everyone will look at your website so to pull the important information from there such as directions (if the venue is hard to get to), possible accommodations and a reception card (if the reception is located at a different venue then your ceremony) are all helpful to your guests.
