Buy or rent a custom made dress?

Hi! I look at the board and found several discussion about whether to buy or rent wedding dress. But let's say, if you have a famous designer to custom made your wedding dress, would you prefer to rent or own the dress? I was very eager to have my wedding dress custom made for me, until they give me a different price quotation for rent and ownership. There are 20% price difference between owing and renting. Please give me some advice...

    It depends on you. Is your dress something that you may want to pass in the family? What are the rules on the rental, like what if you end up with a tear or a stain? Will you have to pay for the cleaning of the rental or is that included in the rental price?

    A friend of mine had looked into renting her dress and the costs involved ended up getting pretty high. Luckily she found a dress on clearance at DB that she loved that was even cheaper then the rental.

    Basically, how do you think you will feel about having to give up your dress after your wedding
