Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invitations for people without a full time home.

I have a few friends that do not have a permanent address. They are backpacking across random countries and only stay in one place for 2-3 days. These people do not even keep an apartment in the States. I was thinking of taking a picture of the invite and emailing the picture to them with a note to respond by email. Do you think this is okay, or should I try to ask first for a physical address before doing this?

  • I would just ask them what they prefer.

Scan your invite, and email it to them, and send a physical invite to their mailing address. I live in a country without postal service and this is how I have been invited to all my friends' weddings. When the actual invite arrives my mum shows me on skype, and I get to see them when I go home for a holiday.
  • This is what I ended up sending via email:

"My Facebook stalking seems to indicate that y'all are having a pretty awesome adventure. I'm getting ready to address wedding invites this month, but I'm not exactly sure where to send yours. Do y'all have a preference? Or I can send a picture of one via email. Let me know what you prefer!"

I agree with PPs that I would ask them what they'd prefer.  They may prefer email, or to get a hard copy invitation at a specified address.
  • Y'all were right. This was the response from them"

"Haha, to be honest, an email of a picture would be best. If you want to send a physical copy though, the best address is [ADDRESS]. It's my parents house and we probably won't see it for a while. Actually, just send a picture via email.

Anyways, Im loving passively keeping in contact through Facebook. It looks like you've had some awesome skiing this year, which is the thing i miss most about being in South America right now."

That was easy. I was totally overthinking.
