Need restaurant and bar recos around Planet Hollywood

Hi All!

I need restaurant and a bar recommendations close to Planet Hollywood.

The night before the wedding we are hosting an in-suite happy hour at PH and then the DDB (will pick up at PH). There will be a 3 hour gap so that people can eat dinner. Can anyone recommend some restaurants that are close by? 3 hours is a long time but not if you're heading to Mandalay Bay for dinner! I'd like to be able to have some recommendations for my guests, and also pick a place for me to eat with my bridesmaids.

I also need a bar recommendation for Friday night. We have nothing official planned, but there will be 18 guests already in town and many more arriving that night. I'd like to say "We're going to be at XXX bar at 9:00, meet us if you'd like!" or something like that. Ideally I would like to be close to the hotel so my guests that arrive Friday night could join us once they've checked in.

Thank you!

  • I really, really loved the Cosmopolitan when I visited in January, and there's a bridge that directly connects PH with it! They have The Chandelier bar right in the middle of the casino. Cocktails are pricey but STRONG. And Wicked Spoon gets a lot of raves on here for food. I liked it too, *especially* the desserts.
  • BURGR at Planet Hollywood!! It's Gordon Ramsay's burger place. Fun atmosphere and I personally really loved the food and cocktails! Fun drinks and desserts.

PBR Rock Bar and Grill is another fun place - just depends on your guests. Definitely a more lively atmosphere. Blondies is a sports bar inside Miracle Mile - another lively atmosphere. I'm 25 so I guess I'm drawn to these places haha

I think Cabo Wabo opened at Miracle Mile as well.

  • If you're hungry, try Pampas at Miracle Mile - Brazilian Steakhouse, all you can eat done right, where waiters come to your table with meat on a spit. Their salad bar is high-class too.

There's also a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, an Earl of Sandwich, Koi, a fancy and good sushi spot. Stripsteak might still be there, which was good and had a classier version of a bordello feel.

If you're going with your girls and the guys have their own thing, they can head to Twin Peaks. Food is meh but it's totally a dude's dudely place. Think Hooters but with flannel.

At Cosmo, we've eaten at Jaleo (yummy) and China Poblano (equally yummy). China Poblano has the better view, especially the later it gets. The restaurant is directly across from Marquee nightclub, so you can watch the fashion show from your seat.

  • I haven't been to this but what about StripBurger? I've only seen it mentioned on here, but it looks fun! My cousin said the Toby Keith Bar was fun
the drinks at the Cabo Wabo are super good!

  • Comme Ca is another reasonably priced dining option at the Cosmopolitan. They have a patio that overlooks the strip.

So many! Everyone's made excellent suggestions, but I will add a few lower budget places, sorted by price range:

    Cheap (under $10 a person)
    - Secret Pizza in Cosmopolitan
    - Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood

    Medium ($15-20 per person)
    - Holsteins Burgers at Cosmopolitan (spiked milkshakes are AMA-zing!)
    - Planet Dailies at PHo

  • @kazzy totally forgot about Holsteins!! Yum!

  • A bar near PH, Twin Peaks, you can sit on the patio and have a great view of the strip!  The Harley-Davidson Cafe is good for food too.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!
