Being so close to the wedding, FI and I like to watch vegas weddings on youtube. Well, last night we ventured onto the Elvis ceremonies and decided we just HAD to have one! Now we arent crazy enough to forgo our traditional ceremony so we will be getting "married" twice on the same day. Obviously the 2nd will be a renewal.

We have booked the Viva Las Vegas package at Graceland Chapel and also upgraded to 30 day web hosting and the dvd. Elvis will walk me down the aisle, sing 2 songs and lead us through the 'Elvis vows'. We wont have any guests attend and will have that ceremony as the last stop on our photo tour while our guests are on the DDB.

Call it tacky, classless and an utter waste of money but we are so excited! And oh yes... I will be sharing the link to the video for any Knotties who are keen to see our Elvis renewal and there will be reviews!

Ha ha ha! That's freakin hilariously awesome! No tack at all. It's your day! It's supposed to be a good and memorable day and it sure will be lol. It's not about anyone else! My MOH keeps asking if she can wear a show girl outfit lol and I'm pretty sure she's joking lol.

I agree @Lynette! Its not like our 2nd ceremony will be affecting anybody else. I have a very traditional family and when they first found out we were having a Vegas wedding they immediately thought it would be something EXACTLY like the 2nd ceremony which to them (and a lot of ppl) is horrendously tacky.

So I think our plan of a beautiful traditional ceremony at the Flamingo with guests followed by our cheesy Elvis renewal 'elopement' ticks all the boxes.

FIs sister said for months that she wanted to wear a showgirl outfit to the wedding. You can buy them on eBay and even hire them in Vegas. Just sayin' ;-)

She wants to do a show girl picture session for her husband so I considered organizing that as a gift to her. I can't count how many times I've heard, "Vegas? Really? ... Sounds tacky". No, these are not people that are invited. Well, one was, but I told her she didn't have to come. I haven't talked to her since. Not only that, she hated my cowboy boots idea. Hmpf, the nerve!

I find most people who think vegas weddings are tacky have never been to one. I think most are on par with any other non church wedding without lots of the stress that gets to people. I love the fact that I have professional wedding people to do all the picking of stuff and I just give them my colors and know it's gonna be fabulous. Just my .0 2

We felt jealous when we were watching those youtube ceremonies! Its right up our alley. We have decided not to tell any of our guests about it and just post a link to the video online. Hahaha... *sinister bride*

Hahahahahaha people just dont quit! On the flip side of this issue ive had a few last minute drop outs but oh well... thats more $$ in our pocket which is great cos we are WELL over budget!

People who don't "get" how modern and awesome Vegas weddings are these days are probably the same people who sit and complain about the music at "regular" wedding receptions and don't dance or try to have a good time. Boo to them, I say! Live a little. Elvis or no Elvis, Vegas weddings are amazing. (But then, I'm preaching to the choir, haha)

I loved our tacky and classless wedding at Graceland back in December! Our Elvis was Brendan Paul the chapel owner, and he is the best! My only bridezilla moment was that I frequently emailed the chapel to tell them how much we wanted Brendan.....it worked! Congrats for ur upcoming wedding, and I hope you enjoy ur add on ceremony as much as we did! X

I just came across this and would love to hear a review! We are doing the exact same thing!! Our date is October 11, 2014. We have 14 of our closest friends and family joining us. I'm brainstorming ideas of what to do after the ceremony. I'd love to hear how your day went!!
