  I am so frustrated with finding a venue. We are getting married at a church in Niles, OH and I'm desperate to find a reception venue that's rustic (barn, lodge, pavilion), allows alcohol, and a reasonable driving distance. Any more suggestions are welcome

  @fargo4 My fiancee and I are having the same problem. Have you found anything yet?  We are wanting to get married in the great Youngstown, OH area and have probably looked at 15-30 different places. I know we checked out all the ones listed. Have you tried the barn in Salem?  It's reasonable but you have to use her catering.  I think it's Carol's Catering? I couldn't find a website but have the number if you want it. Let me know what else you have tried because I've looked at them all.

  I just drove by the barn in salem, ohio but they don't have any contact info or a website that i can find. Any idea how to get ahold of someone to get more information?

  Check out TheMohicanCabins.com  They are opening a Barn Wedding facility on 75 acres and a 1/2 acre pond. It will seat up to 300.  Contact them directly for pictures. The pictures are awesome.

  In response to the Barn in Salem, we finally were able to get ahold of someone to go out and see it. However,we drove out there and then the guy called and said that he wouldn't be able to make it. We looked around the outside anyway. The barn is really pretty and set far back from the road. But, there is a house not even 100 yards from it that someone other than the owner lives in. There was a nice gazebo, but there really was not a very good view for pictures. Also, when we went, there had been a wedding the weekend before, but the outside was really overgrown with weeds and you could tell that they don't take care of it. Overall the experience was really bad. And I heard that it was really expensive to rent. But the barn is really beautiful and is 3 levels. But you do have to use Carol's Catering like they mentioned before.

  In reference to the Mohican Barn-
  I actually went to check this out since my family is from Akron and my fiance's is from Columbus but the website says no alchol allowed on the property, would they make an exception for the wedding venue?

  In response the the Mohican Barn You must be confused with another location on the alcohol policy. I know that they allow alcohol on the property at the mohican grand barn. In fact, I believe they recently acquired a liquor license and maybe pursuing a permit to brew their own craft beer on premise.

  Anyone know of any Rustic venues close to Grafton that are decently priced and allow outside caterers and bartenders? We want to stay close, so that my fiance's grandfather can attend.
