Carmal Apples as favors

My FI and I are having our wedding September 15th but not till 2012 (I know Im a early planner!) But I was thinking about doing candy apples as our favors. Does anyone in Michigan/Indy/Ohio area that sells candy apples?

This is an international board.  You should check with your local to see if anyone knows of anything.  There is always the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory route, but that can be pricey.

The main thing to consider though is to ask your venue if they even allow outside food and drinks to be brought in.  If they do not, this may answer your favor question.

My wedding is in October and I really want carmel apples as well. However, the venue itself kind of rained on my parade. They're doable but they'd be put in a meat locker so to speak so do I really want my favors smelling like meat? No. Storage is definitely something to consider.

the reason I asked on here is because I want the input for about 5 different states arond me and I did not see the point posting this 5 times. Also its a wedding favor just like any wedding favor My site does not have that kind of power to tell me what kind of wedding favors i can use.

mms84- why would they have to put them in a meat locker?? was it to keep the cool?

If your venue is a friend or private residence, they probably will not care.  But if it is a health inspected facility where food is prepared on site, yes, they do have the power to tell you what kinds of favors can be brought in.   I was only suggesting so you don't spend hundreds of dollars on something you cannot use.

its fine and i understand. Our site does not have any catering since it is a nature center so we will have free run of what we want. But now when I brought up the idea to FI he said he doesnt like carmal!! UGH! Now i can make him a choclate one myself it that is needed but I think it will be a perfect wedding favor for a september wedding. So I now need to convince him its the perfect one!

You should check out the carmel apples here  - a couple of different varieties -- Especially for the chocolate lover!
