Wedding Woes

Good morning!

How was the weekend?  How does the week look?

Friday I got my van back.  We logged the incident on the NHTSA website and the GM is passing it on.  It's probably overkill, but DH really felt it should be documented.

Saturday was M2's bday.  We went out for pancakes, then off to the zoo.  We rode the carousel and saw the fish and penguins.  Then we went to a cupcake place that let's you build your own cupcakes- she picked chocolate with strawberry frosting, skittles, and color sprinkles.

Sunday was boing stuff- Costco, hair cuts, some cleaning and fixing the bathroom sink.

Today we get granite and tomorrow FIL comes back to finish the kitchen.  For some reason I'm anxious about the granite, but I'm dying to get a kitchen sink back.  Bathtub dishes are gross.

Re: Good morning!

  • I'm in the clinic for another five days, which would be fine except that with our regular clinic manager leaving, the head of the department of nursing is coming to take her place in the interim, and I don't like her. So... that sucks. She'll be here in an hour or so, and I'm like ugghhhhh.

One good thing is that we're hitting a short time of the year where there are a few less patient enrollments, so we might get a little break from starting new patients, which will hopefully let us devote more time to current patients.

We did nothing this weekend besides finish Breaking Bad. I never actually stepped outside on Saturday or Sunday. It was nice.

  • We didn't do much this weekend.  I took Son shopping for gym clothes.  The kid is just growing out of everything he owns.  He needs summer clothes also but we can wait a little while longer.

Yesterday we let the girls have a sleepover in DD1's room.  It's the first time we've done it and they had fun.  They laid there and giggled all night and we had to tell them to quiet down a few times.  It was very cute.

We rented Gravity.  It was alright.
  • We got home from honeymoon on Saturday afternoon. US Airways tried to be a clusterfuck on purpose, but we smacked them back down. Got local takeout (as opposed to chain takeout), got home, unloaded the car, had dinner, all with the kitties very excited to see us back. Watched Riddick and started laundry.

Yesterday, continued laundry, printed SSA paperwork, went through mail, cleaned up dining table and coffee table, did all the grocery shopping, cleaning around the house. DH and I were still kind of tired/out of it from our trip, so newlywed bitching/sniping going on. Ended up spending quite a portion of the late afternoon and evening sipping firefly and lemonade, watching Catching Fire, and finishing writing thank you notes. Yep, all done with TY notes within 2 weeks of wedding, just have to address and stamp envelopes.

Having been gone from work for a week and a half, I'm nervous a ton of stuff is going to be piling/piled up for me. So far not looking too bad, but then, my boss isn't in for another 30 minutes. May have to run back to wedding cake bakery and get some cupcakes.

  • Friday-I worked super late (after 9) and then we pretty much went to bed.

Saturday-DH had to go into work becuase he had people in training. The kids and I slept in until around 10am.  I even got in a workout before I had to get DefConn up.  :)  We went grocery shopping.  Saturday night, we went out for a spur-of-the-moment dinner with my neighbors to the new Brazilian place that opened up at the mall.  It was OK, not as good as Fogo, but also not as expensive.  We left the kiddo with our neighbor's kids (they ordered pizza).  DefConn came with us for dinner (he was free. :)) and totally enjoyed his meat coma.

Sunday-DH and the kiddo went to an early church service.  When they got home, we went to Sam's and then headed out to rent a storage unit.  DH and the kiddo took a few loads to storage while DefConn napped and then we just hung out and were lazy butts all afternoon.  It was really nice.

I feel like I haven't been around these parts in forever. Last week was my Spring Break and it was great. Tons of naps, spring cleaning, naps, naps and some exercise thrown in for good measure.

Sister update: Her boyfriend had the "talk" with my mom. You know, the "I love your daughter and want to marry her talk." She doesn't know, and I'm not allowed to tell, of course. It's so exciting. My mom said she did ask him a few questions and she liked his answers. So, cute!!!!

On my end, I had a date with a guy that used the F-word, S***, and d*** every third word, but hey, I was very entertained.

  • Chip, you got married. How exciting? Tell me all about it.

  • We rented Gravity.  It was alright.
I'm very claustrophobic, so I feel like watching that would be a complete endurance trial for me and that I'd have horrible nightmares.

  • "We got home from honeymoon on Saturday afternoon."

    Congratulations!

  • Friday I sorted dicked around at work and called it quits a little early. Picked the kids up early and then made dinner. Everyone was to bed early. Saturday i took DS to see The Lego Movie. I try to have a one on one outing with him once a month and this was his choice. Picked up lunch in the way home and after we ate, DS and DD went down for naps. Which meant I got to nap for 2 hours. Sunday was sort of a mess. It started off well but in the afternoon, no one napped and it got ugly around 5 pm. Early bed times for all. And then I was up for a 6 am teleconference. Good times.

LOL @ Nola...I love the dirty mouthed guy snippet.  That would be me in a conversation with new people.  I have no idea how I turned into this complete pirate of a talker.

Also, whenever I think of Brazilian places I think of Bridesmaids now.

Weekend was pretty awesome.  Friend came on Friday we had dinner out---she played 3rd wheel but she never cares.  We had a great random laugh fest at a restaurant and then decided to call it a night when bartender brought out his weird operatic singing.  OKay then...

Saturday was a morning run with H and friend.  We've never run together, but it was really nice and painful.  Nice to have company regardless though.  I really liked it.  Friend and I sat around for several hours, finally got ready and had lunch out and shopped a bit.  She is looking for old milk crates/fruit crates for her wedding reception and was surprised at the price.  I think she can find something cheaper, I may look for her. Saturday night was dinner at home, steaks, whipped sweet potatoes and veggies...mmm...and movie with all three of us.

Sunday H worked 2nd shift and I saw friend off at 11am.  I proceeded to attempt a few things around the house, which I pretty much conquered.  New light bulbs, dog food, and laundry.  Woo...?

I'm not even wearing green today.  Bah humbug.
  • I'm glad you had a great day. Yes, I'll love to see your pics.

Friday night was Billy Joel and bulgogi date night. Not too bad for a date night ;)

Saturday and Sunday were pretty lazy. Ran errands, grocery shopped, caught up on Doctor Who, DD had a play date with one of her friends.

Wish I got more accomplished...but maybe a lazy weekend was in order

One of my friends went to that! I was at a cookout quietly making fun of one of husband's coworkers and then loudly making fun of him with husband's bff and boss after he left. It was fun.

  • @chipmunk415 I was very disappointed in Riddick.  IDK WTF Sackoff or Diesel were thinking.  But I keep wondering if maybe a director's cut would be better.

Saturday -- up at 5:30 to drive to convention.  The convention was decent.  It was obvious it was their first one.  The speakers really turned it out, though, and we heard some really interesting things.  I was said to miss Sunday's speakers, but they've recorded them and are supposed to post them.

Sunday was recovery.  Caught up some household chores and watched some television stuffs.  Not too much after that.
