Security for alcohol

In Texas, it's required to have security on-site if alcohol is being served at wedding venues. Do any of you know what the average rate for this is? How many security guards are needed? I just don't want to be screwed and I don't know much about this. Thanks.

Houston here! You will need security. As to rates and the number of people, that depends on where you live. Ask the venue or call the local constable or sheriff's office and ask them. Rates will vary…like I'm sure they'd be higher in Houston or Austin as opposed to a smaller town.

I'm not in Texas, but our venue requires that we hire security (pretty sure they are off-duty cops) and we have to have 2 for our 200 person wedding, and they charge $15/hour.
