Someone is getting de-friended

I have an old friend on facebook who posted she was pregnant at like 5 weeks. (ridiculous, right?!) Well this is what she posted today:
"Yay I am 2cm dialated and 75 percent thinned out and she's really low! I think she's going to come soon!!!!!"

Um seriously? Gross.   Sorry I hear your stories and think "No one I know would do that", but I guess I was wrong.  Do you girls want updates? ;) (jking of course)

  • Yep...I had a friend who posted almost the exact same thing last week...I was squicked out.... I ALSO had someone who used to a be a friend send be a picture of her newborn child...I was like "AAAAND I don't care." I didn't actually say that, but that was my reaction.

  • HisGirlFriday13 I think spring cleaning of my FB friends list will happen next week during spring break. And that is hilarious and should totally be a hide option.

Maggie0829 Yea I'm not quite that gutsy. I am much more snarky here than in real life.

  • Just wait until the baby comes - you will get 'what's in the diaper this time' updates ;)

  • The funny thing is that she did not do this with her first kid. (This is her second). I think she almost gave up her identity as a person outside of being a mom, which is really sad.

Also, not that anyone would be surprised but she did have a PPD. She got married on the quick when she was pregnant and then proceeded to enjoy her benefits as a military wife. Then after birth and after she lost the baby weight, she had another "wedding" so she could look beautiful in her gown.

Yeah, I've hid a bunch of people from my newsfeed. Like @hisgirlfriday13, I would give a reason if there were something like, "Because this is an ex and I'm trying to be cool by being his friend but really don't want to hear about his new girlfriend."

  • I just don't understand the need for sharing everything you do on FB anyway "went to Target!" "Had a pizza for lunch!"

I barely share anything at all- I doubt I would even share I was pregnant, never mind live-FB'ing my labor. Some people have no clue.

  • Most of my FB acquaintes post pics of the stick they peed on. What joy is mine...
  • I have a FB friend I went to school with a few years ago and haven't spoken to since. This girl quite literally updates her status 15 times a day. She announced this morning she's engaged. In a 5 minute span she posted that she was at breakfast, then engaged, then a ring pic, then changed her relationship status... All I could think was oh lord, here we go.

That is one I hate the most. Whatever happened to pregnancy being a (relatively) private thing? At least wait till the pee is dry to announce it! IMO, you should never, ever put a photo of a pregnancy test online.

    Gross.

  • My cousin's girlfriend gave updates on Facebook when she was in labor. At first I was wondering what her problem was because I know her friends didn't want to see that but I realized she was only sending the updates to a group of people made up of relatives. That didn't bother so much, probably because I had that "aw... She considers me family" moment.
  • I really try not to over share on FB. I may post a sonogram but no one wants to know how far apart contractions are!

I just went and counted. she has eight sonograms from her pregnancy online. eight! and weekly countdowns that I somehow (luckily) missed. wow.  I don't mind one or two things, but she is seriously going overboard.

Admittedly, I have some friends who could probably do a kickass job of live-tweeting while in labor.

  • I went through my FB newsfeed the other week and hid a bunch of people, largely for reasons like this. And then, of course, FB asks you, 'Why don't you want to see this?' but does not have an option for 'Because this person is a vague-booking, over-sharing, attention-whoring nimrod!'
So much this. I hid my mom and sister for constant political crap and several vague-bookers and constant selfie posters. Those should all be categories. It gives an option to give someone feedback but that's a road I don't want to go down...

  • I feel your pain! I hid an aquaintance after she made a post looking for opinions on whether she should get a brazilian wax/how much it hurts, etc. for her honeymoon since her first time was going to be on her wedding night. I just couldn't look at her the same after that.

!!!! What planet does she live on that she thinks posting that is okay?!
  • I defriended a cousin after her picture of three blow out diapers from three different offspring. Really, who wants to see that?

But I'd rather a pee stick picture than finding seven freshly used ones in the Walmart bathroom.
  • I have a friend who annoyed the ever loving shit out of me with her holier-than-thou mom of the decade vaguebooking statuses while pregnant.

"I don't get mom's who complain about not getting enough sleep..."

"I'm so tired of seeing moms who go out to bars instead of being with their kids"

"Why do people act like parenting is so hard? It's such a blessing" etc etc

Since having baby in December, she's made several statuses about being exhausted and setting her "mood" to annoyed, went out to the bar 1 night and again on St Patricks day because "This mama needs a break!" And complaints about how her baby won't stop crying.
