  We used DJ Jesse Webb last month. I wouldn't describe myself as a music snob but I did have pretty strong feelings about songs on the must play/do not play list. They allowed us to customize the list as much as we wanted to. About 2 weeks before the wedding, I talked to Jesse's wife Laura on the phone and went over the songs (there were a few covers/obscure versions) and she assured me they would get whatever wasn't already in their library. 

  
  

  They stayed very true to the lists during the reception. And our guests were still able to make requests - they had a great time and were on the dance floor til the very end. If you work with them and express how important it is to stick to your lists, they will honor that. Good luck!

  I used Billy Jay and we had a blast. We met with him and worked on our Do not play list, which for us was nothing obscene or depressing. The DJ said that how he handled requests that weren't approriate were to either apologize for not having the song or telling the person he will see if he has the song. I did allow requests to be taken, and he did a great job of reading the crowd on what got people out on the dance floor & kept them there.

  I had this exact problem. I went with Tim from Magical Sound Entertainment. What he expressed to me that made me feel comfortable was that if I wanted to customize the playlist 100% I could, he guaranteed not touching the do not play list and is even getting a couple of obscure songs my fiance wants. He was so real and told me how he does what the customer wants, period, because that is how he gets and promotes business. If you want more info feel free to send me a PM.

  I also used Tim from Magical Sound Entertainment. He's been DJing FOREVER. He's extremely professional... I booked him first for a large fundraiser (2,000 people) last June and then had him for my wedding in September. He also DJ'd my husband's cousin's wedding earlier this month. Each event had a very different style which he totally catered to. I would definitely recommend him. He's a great deal, too!

  I am going with TKO. Heard about them through a friend and when I went to go meet them and see what they had to offer I was completely blown out of the water!! The lighting that accompanies them is something I have never seen at any other wedding before! Check em out!!!

  I am going with the DJ Crew. We had them at a Christmas party at work and they were amazing! They have a whole app you can use to make your playlists and do not play lists. Plus if you book with them and mention my name, Ashley Chinrock, you'll get $50 off the price.
