What's the proper date for RSVP

Hi everyone,

My FI is insisting that our RSVPs be returned by April 1st for our June 5th wedding.  While 30% of those invited are traveling and have already made their travel arrangements due to occupancy restraints (thank you Chicago), it still seems very rude to me.  Thoughts?

    No earlier than 4 weeks out.  Many people can't get confirmation of vacation days/schedule more than 4 weeks out.  They may have financial issues to deal with.  They might have an elderly or ill relative that requires care.  Your FI is just over anxious.

    Depends on when your venue requires a final count - You want to give yourself time to follow up with ppl who don't respond.

    We did one month before our wedding date and it worked out perfectly

    Thanks ladies.  Most of our guest have already made arrangements for hotels as the city is packed that weekend so we have about 30% of our count already.  I think he's nuts and I guess I just have to say so.  Thanks for the wisdom.
