Best Value Florist in North/Central NJ?

Hello all!
I was just looking for recommendations from some of you on who you found to be the most cost-effective and best bang for your buck NJ florist? I have a relatively tight budget for what I will be needing and I want to take it as far as I can.

Can anyone give any personal recommendations?

Thanks!!

Re: Best Value Florist in North/Central NJ?

  • Avenue Flowers in Elizabeth is awesome.  Nathan worked within my budget and the sales tax is only 3% which can save a big chunk of money.
  • I am also using Avenue. The other ones often recommended on here for good prices: Santos, AW, Whole Foods, Metropolitan Plant Exchange.
  • Yumila Floral Design! Excellent work and value!
  • The Flower Cart in Old Bridge!!
  • I am using Sheena at Bella Fiori Floral Design in Parsipanny.  She is so sweet and very good about working within your budget.
  • Where exactly are you located?  My florist is Aztec Floral in Ewing.  She gave me a GREAT price for my ceremony and bridal party flowers (we don't need centerpieces).  I was floored by all the other florists in my area with their super high quotes (upwards of 4k for just ceremony/bridal party - insane!).  When I was given my price from Aztec, I asked if there was a 0 missing.  Nope.  Decent prices for flowers is what I was going for.  Super happy!

I'm also using Sheena and love her! She wasn't the lowest quote I got, but she definitely gives you the most for your money.

  • I'm using Santos. Even for my invites. Everyone I've dealt with has been awesome.

  • I'm using Debbie's Designs. They gave us the lowest quote by far and Melissa is awesome to work with!
  • I'm using Flowers by Susan Marie in Union.  She is fantastic! old school Italian lady who works with any budget!
  • I'm in Essex county (North) but the wedding will be in Middlesex/Somerset country area so either would be fine but its a little easier to work with someone closer to home who will travel to the wedding day of. Thanks for all the responses ladies (and keep it coming), I will definitely check them out!
  • Just booked AW Flowers in Kearny! Very beautiful work and affordable.
  • bump. Looking to start making appointments with florists within the next few weeks. Any more suggestions? Also, can you mention how much per centerpiece your florist is charging you since that is my biggest price concern. Thanks!!
  • My centerpieces from Avenue Florist in Elizabeth are $150 for the tall ones and $120 for the short ones. Just to give you an idea of the rest my bouquet is $180 and the bridesmaids $90 with the boutineers $10 and corsages for the moms $14. He is very wiling to work within your budget and at suggesting flower replacements if a certain flower you want is very expensive. The sales tax is only 3% which helps.
  • I cannot recommend Pink Dahlia (Parsippany) enough. She was AMAZING! She was the one vendor that we just completely trusted to run with our vision. When we saw the flowers the day of the wedding, we were blown away. Great price, great service, lots of fun to work with.
  • I have heard amazing things about Pink Dahlia as well and she has an open house coming up to check out her stuff.

  • The Potted Geranium in East Hanover with work in any price range Vito is amazing!
  • Just to update everyone for their benefit, I met with a couple of florists and spoke with others so I'll share my experiences. I think we will be going with AW Flowers in Kearny!! Some background: We are having a large wedding and needed a lot of centerpieces on a relatively modest budget so we were really looking for a florist that could give us what we wanted without breaking the bank.
1- Laurelwood in Hillsdale has a 3k minimum budget so after filling out their questionnaire, they told us they could not work in our budget so we did not meet.
2- Pink Dahlia was really nice and honestly they were our second choice. I loved Kim, i trusted her instantly and she was very creative thinking of ways to give us the look we wanted for the price we wanted. Definitely worth meeting!
3- Avenue in Elizabeth was also willing to work in our budget, but I wasn't a fan of the example vase we saw and I just didn't really click with Nathan (he was a nice guy and also very busy when we visited) but I just didn't feel as comfortable as I should have with him. A third choice, but not a bad one by any means!
4- Metropolitan plant and flower exchange in Fort Lee- We met with Elyse and she basically told me we couldn't have anything near what we wanted for our budget, not even at a "skimpy florist". She offered me something I wasn't even really happy with and still was over budget. Had I not visited other florists before her, I might not have known better. Thats the benefit of shopping around and word of mouth reviews.
5- Amore wedding rentals in Hawthorne- we didn't end up meeting. We were originally seriously considering them for the main reason that we thought we wouldn't be able to afford the look we wanted for the price we wanted. After meeting with AW Flowers, we cancelled because we would barely save any money to use fake flowers and we preferred real flowers.
6- AW Flowers in Kearny- Yes, they don't have a website or even an email and yes the storefront is very modest (they have an offsite location where they have storage/ do more of their work), but do not be turned off by that. Adam was very genuine and honest with us from the start which I appreciated and I felt comfortable working with him. He had great ideas and knew what I wanted more than I did. He was a little shocked at our budget too (we told him we were a little flexible) and he worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted for a price we could afford! As an added bonus, he is not only going to set up at the ceremony and reception sites, but he is also going to clean up the church for us and transfer our flowers after the ceremony to the reception site for us. Basically, if you are a bride on a budget who doesn't want to sacrifice her dream look, I highly recommend meeting with Adam!
  • @MnM Great Choice! I was floored at the amount of things I got with AW for the price! This is def a place where one should not judge a book by its cover (the storefront & size) because they do awesome work for an affordable price. I too went to Avenue flowers and Nathan was nice but AW flowers were charging me hundreds of dollars less for the same exact things I wanted.
  • I looked at both AW and Avenue and went with Avenue. Nathan and I just clicked and he has done the flowers at a number if friends wedding a and he does awesome work. He is a but frazzled when you meet him but he def makes up for it in his work. His quote was actually less then AW for me but both were awesome.
  • I met with Nathan first and liked how he got my ideas right away. The price came out to exactly what I wanted to spend so I decided not to go anywhere else.
