Must-Have Photo Tour Pics

What's on your list?

I MUST have pictures

- At the Sign
- Purple Chair at Cosmopolitan
- Craps dice shot in a casino (probably at the Mirage)
- The phonebox at the Mirage (if its still there)
- The revolution lounge at Mirage (for the big LOVE)

So far thats only 3 stops. Im assuming we will probably get kicked out of the Cosmopolitan though, but I will be happy with even 1 good purple chair shot.

I definitely want the Sign shot, and the Craps shot, I also want one with the fountains at the Bellagio, it's just so Vegas. Then I'm sort of hoping something will just 'speak' to us as we're driving down the strip!

Mo I haven't been to Revolution but I noticed on the website they don't open until 10pm.  Is the sign inside the club or can we get to it earlier?  It's one of my must have shots as well.

It's outside Revolution I believe, you should be good to go!

    PS - 2 months to go, @shoebunnie!!! :D

The Revolution / Love sign is outside the club at Mirage.

I was told by Mirage that you can't take pictures at the tables...maybe try a different place for that?

Also, what about the Bellagio fountains?

I think it's policy at all casinos that you can't take pictures with any gambling machines/tables/people in them.... you just have to be sneaky and quick. VG posted about it... http://www.vegasgroom.com/Is-it-legal-to-take-photos-in-a-casinos-gaming-area_81.html

I love the shoe at the Cosmo near the front door, bottom floor entrance. Then of course within all of the crystals.

Planet Hollywood has some fun lights. The escalators going down from the casino are lit up very cool. Also some fun pillars on the bottom floor where the cars pull up. Their convention area is all striped wallpaper and fun little velvet chairs.

Of course in front of the Bellagio Fountains. My photog swears he can get us up on top of one of the pillars in front for a great shot.

In front of the Paris. The Paris actually has a really pretty lobby, filled with chandeliers.

Keep em coming ladies! We may have to pass on the LOVE at Mirage. But I really want the phone booth there. I didnt even think of the Paris Lobby.

Our other must have is an elevator shot.

There is that cute little waterfall outside of the Wynn too.

I'm very non-traditional and might actually grab a pic with those little "girls, girls, girls" card flippers, you can't do Vegas without seeing those guys, they're a part of Vegas you just can't avoid haha. Might as well embrace them!

@mariaina2014 - I love that idea!  Did you know if you find the head guy he will actually sell you a t-shirt if has them.  We ran into a guy once wearing one and then later night found the guy on the bike, but he was all sold out.  My FI has made it his mission to find one to wear for his bachelor party!

I love Vegas but I'd love it even more if these card guys didn't exist. Obviously this happens all around the world but thankfully since my first visit in 2008 I've noticed far less of these guys and on occasion women, might just be fluke as the problem probably hasn't decreased.

The purple chair idea is great, I wish someone had pointed this one out to me, it's one if my favourite holiday pictures and we're only wearing shorts in it. We walked past it too as we left the hotel on our way to get married.

Our wedding is at Springs Preserve and we have an hour on the grounds so we'll be getting some good shots in their cactus garden (well not 'in' it but you know what I mean) etc.. then we're having our main photo shoot done out in the dessert with our photographer whilst our guests are going to the sign and the fountains etc with a second shooter.  Strip wise we're going to to the sign and the fountains if we have time.  Then after our reception (our booking at the Hard Rock Cafe ends at 9pm we'll hit the strip so we should be able to get some night shots out and about.  I haven't seen the purple chair, will have to check it out!

Who are you guys using for your photo tour pics?  I'm new at this... so, this might be a silly question, but will you do the tour between the wedding and the reception, or will this be at a different time?

    Thanks!

@DixeChik19 the great thing about Vegas is you can plan your wedding however you want! I'm getting married at 1 pm and then I have our reception starting at 5 pm to give myself lots of time in between for some photos. My fiance and I are also doing a first look type session before we get married to get some good shots of the two of us so we can focus more on family/bridal party after the ceremony. So basically, plan the photo tour for whenever works for your schedule :)

You can also look into trash the dress shoots for the next day, there are LOTS of cool ones out there. Have you checked out @VegasGroom's website? He has everything you need to know for planning - http://www.vegasgroom.com/

I am bumping this older post up. I am looking to do a photo tour too but am going for a vintage vegas feel. Does anyone have recomendations for places along fremont or in downtown? I already talked to the neon museum....they're just a little high priced at this point. Thanks!
    image

@Rosebubbly There are a bunch of neon signs on Fremont Street at 3rd St, then going north on 3rd St, all open air, no fees. Inside Neonopolis are more signs, mostly hanging from a center column. Neonopolis is an open-air semi-circular mall, can't miss it. You may also want to think about the exterior of the Riviera for a 70s groove, and inside the Peppermill Fireside Lounge (not the restaurant).

A few more ideas that I passed by today: El Cortez, both inside and out. They have an amazing staircase inside and a swank retro bar; Atomic Liquors, which had liquor license #1 and has retained some cool neon outside; around Charleston and Las Vegas Blvd, which has Holsum Lofts, the Gateway Motel and a few other cheesy/neon motels. It's a more run-down area but still interesting.
