**Disclaimer: Not Vegas Related!**

In January, FI and I hosted a pre-wedding party in our hometown (Brisbane, Australia) and invited all of our local friends and family (all guests were also invited to the Vegas wedding). We had an awesome photographer come along and capture a few pictures of the event. I know most destination brides opt for the AHR to be after the wedding - but I also highly recommend a pre-wedding party. It was a great way for our guests to meet each other before the vegas trip and also for our families and friends who weren't travelling to come and celebrate. We didn't have ANYTHING wedding related (ie no cake cutting, speeches, first dances or any of that jazz). It was just a chilled out, laid back casual saturday afternoon summer party. We hosted all of the food and offered a beer and wine only bar for 6 hours. Our guests had a blast and we are so glad we hosted the party.

    OMG I knowwwwww! Just a bit over 3 weeks! I cant wait actually. We were insanely happy that day. I posted some questions on the pre wedding board and the ladies there completely shut my idea down as stupid and insisted I host it AFTER Vegas. I dunno bout you all... but after this wedding I dont want to plan/organise another event for a while. Haha! We had almost 100% attendance too.

    Mo, one thing I've learned is who cares what anyone else has to say as long as you are happy then go with it! Some people are way too uptight and judgmental. Your pre wedding celebration looked like tons if fun! As much stress as I've had t He past few weeks I've already starting planning my son's 3rd birthday party for June lol!

    Brisbane really is beautiful in the summer. It was a nice bright summer day thats for sure! I agree that some people just want to put ideas down... but I still appreciated the feedback. We just decided to go ahead with it cos I was 100% sure I wouldnt offend my guests and we were fully hosting the event. I also made sure it wasnt weddingy but we still had some guests bring gifts/cards (which we sent thank you notes for). Actually we sent thank you cards to EVERYBODY who attended - gift or no gift. Now all of my attention is focussed on the big event! 21 days to go
