Meet & Greet

Looking into meet & greet options for the night before the wedding. One option is to do a sit down at Grand Lux, but we also want a less formal option so people can come and go at different times etc if they have other plans for the evening.
So what we're looking for is somewhere where we can reserve a few tables and people an come and meet us. We're happy to pay for drinks and food, but on a more casual basis like platters etc. We also need somewhere that kids are allowed (a 6 yr old and 3 yr old) and is relatively close to MGM.
Would somewhere like Nine Fine Irishmen be suitable?
Thanks!

Re: Meet & Greet

  • Look into RiRa Irish Pub at Mandalay Bay. My Fiancé's fam is hosting our meet &greet there the Friday before our wedding. I hear it was reasonable and kids are ok up to a certain time.
  • Oh and we're just having apps and cocktails so it's pretty light.
  • Contact the groups people at Grand Lux, we looked into doing an appetizer reception there for our meet and greet.  You get types of apps for $34 a person I think.  Then you still can have a private room.

Carmines also told me they could do apps and drinks.  They had like a 4500 min though.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • Down the hall from RiRa is Hussong's Cantina, also an excellent choice.  We had our rehearsal dinner there; not sure if pricing has changed but at the time we used them, they offered this package:

Street-Side FiestaFresh-made Chips, Two Family Recipe Salsas, and Hussong’s GuacamoleTraditional Roasted Tomatillo Salsa and Hussong’s own family recipe, tomato and roasted chile de arbol salsa
Quesadillas Corn tortillas, blend of Mexican cheeses, choice of Chicken, Steak or Carnitas, with pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole
Sopes Corn masa dough boats filled with choice of pulled Chicken, Steak or Carnitas, with Mexican toppings
    OR
Traditional Baja Street-Side Taco CartCorn or Flour Tortillas with Choice of Chicken, Beef or Carnitas(Shrimp, Fish or Lobster add $5 per guest)

  • We're hosting ours at Trevi - it's a $1500 food and bev minimum for a Friday night, semi-private area.
  • Thanks all - been looking into these.
Does anyone have experience of a more "drop in" sort of place - somewhere we can say "we'll be here from this time, come and join us when you want" - we want to host but want it to be relaxed for people to not feel pressured to give up another evening. And not have to pay big group booking fees/service charges.
I would just pick a bar/lounge and go there, but we have to pick somewhere kid friendly.

That's exactly what we're doing at Trevi... :)

I wanted a bar, but we have a few kids attending and they weren't allowed.
  • Oh cool Alicia! We've got maggianos for the reception though, so think Italian 2 nights in a row might be a bit much.
PBR Rockbar has a good deal for its patio section and they will let the kids there, so we might go with them
  • Oh yes, good point. PBR sounds awesome!
  • I was looking at Serendipity3 in Caesars Palace. Kids would have a great time with their desserts!
  • Lynette - they look amazing don't they! They also have a build your own hot dog station as well I think - not ruled it out!
  • I think it just looks like a relaxed, fun place. We are doing Maggianos and didn't want Italian either.
  • We are doing Margarittaville Friday night it's kid friendly that way those who are flying in friday can meet us there
