Disney Honeymoon

So my FI and I are going to Disney World for our honeymoon (November 2014). We are staying at the Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, and we were just wondering if anyone had any helpful tips or tricks for honeymooning in Disney!? We are very excited!! :)

Re: Disney Honeymoon

  • I just stayed at Riverside in February-it's a huge property, so when you check in be sure to ask for a room closer to the main building. Also there was a bit of construction going on while we were there on some of the room buildings-be sure to request to be away from any of that (although it might be finished by November).

There are a few restaurants you need to book exactly 6 months before the day you want to dine there-so mark your calendars-reservations become available at noon I believe. If you want to eat at Be Our Guest for dinner, or the steak house in Canada, or a fireworks dinner at the Contemporary-you need to book it the day and time they open the reservations! Many other places can wait until closer to your arrival, some even after arrival.

The new Magic Bands system can be really frustrating, though they are constantly improving it. Some attractions you will need to book days in advance, like Toy Story Mania and Soarin'. I think those were the only two that we had trouble booking that day, or even the day before. It took a lot of manipulation to get reservations for some of the rides. You can order your magic bands ahead of time and have them shipped to you 30 days before your trip. You can start making ride reservations at that time.
