Yeah, my H doesn't groom me. :) But he does tell me when I look pretty!

One of my favorite things about my H is that we can be quiet. Or we can talk for hours. We can read each other and tell when the other is in the mood for talking or quiet time.

And we're always comfortable with each other. It was immediately apparent when we started dating.

I have some friends who are like this, too, but alas, they live far away. :(

I think most of this is true.

"it’s easy to care about someone when they don’t need you. It’s easy to love them when they’re healthy and don’t ask you for anything beyond change for the parking meter."

II think the above is super true in regards to any relationship. You really know a good friend, or SO when you are at your lowest and need them most. Not when you are at your regular, fun self and less maintenance.

But some of it is a bit silly. BF and I go through the "what do you want to eat?" dance every weekend, and I don't think  just because he doesn't know what I want to eat means he doesn't love me. That and sometimes he refuses to listen to my beloved Britney Spears. But I won't dump him over that! But other than that I think this is pretty cool. I'd say most of my friends and definitely SO fall within this.

Aw I like this.  It really is true.  I want to add that I feel you love someone when you feel safe with them.
I groom everyone.  It just bothers me when there is hair on people, but that is just me.
I have always been comfortable with BF.  I think it was because I unloaded on him in the first date all my problems that I saw and I didn't have to worry about him finding out.  We are happy to lay next to each other and read.  <3 him.  This makes me feel warm fuzzies!
I don't really have any friends who do this for me.  I have friends who would do some of this but not all.  But I don't have many friends so maybe this is why.

I'd say BF and I pretty much fit all of them. Even my closest friend might fit only one or two of them though. Who does she think she is?! I'm totally going to have to reevaluate our friendship.
No but really, this was cute!!

ETA: A few months ago BF brought up how him and I just sit in silence sometimes, but he doesn't mind. He said it's like we can just enjoy eachother's company and talk with silence. It was deep, and he's not an English major or anything so I was quite impressed. Gah I miss him and he's only been in China for five days!!!

Oh for sure. This is like a never ending discussion in our house. :) But if we go to a restaurant, my H can guess what I'm likely to order. Or at Chipotle he knows what I always want in my bowl. :)

PS, I love that you love Britney. I like her a lot, too -- I got to see her on the Circus tour and it was superfun! Girl can DANCE. Whoo!

I agree with this. While I agree with the general premise behind it a lot of it made me roll my eyes.

<div>Britney and I are BFF's! She just doesn't know it! I loved her even in her cheeto-haze, public restroom in bare feet, bald-headed phase! I've also seen her in concert (it's been a long time, though) and girl is an entertainer! Love her! </div><div>
</div><div>Confession; I used to tape all her videos-when they played videos on MTV-and learn the dances. Those were the days. My college roommates would catch me dancing in our living room all the time. I am not ashamed!</div>

    Yum. Chipotle.

A few days after starting weight watchers- Andrew and I went to Chili's. I was in the bathroom and when I got back- he said, "I ordered you a coke." I ADORE coke. When it arrived it was diet...I thought that was so very very thoughtful.

Awww... I like this actually. BF does most of these things, and my adopted "sister" (ie, my best friend), and my sister do all of those things.

*tear* now I miss my sister....she is leaving in a month or two for MSU...and won't be around to just come chill with me. We do the whole, sit in silence thing, it's just nice to be in each other's company....

This was cute. I groom BF and my friends and they'll do it for me. I have one really amazing BFF who is always there no matter what whether I'm sick, bitchy whatever. Those are the friends you really need to cherish.
BF and I always fight about 'what do you want for dinner tonight?" "I don't know, what do you want?"..it's annoying but I could order for him. Just the other day we were at a restaurant and he ordered a burger at Cheesecake Factory (yumm) that has shredded lettuce on it which he hates so asks for it without lettuce. He forgot this time. So I had to say 'oh without lettuce babe, that one comes with the shredded lettuce you don't like'. It's the little things :)

I'm lucky enough to have read this and feel that my SO and I are very much like this. The whole thing about being okay with the quiet, and the little things like rubbing their back, knowing what they want to order, and bigger things like being able to call them on their BS and help them through things. This post made me smile.

    Sounds like FI and BFF.

BFF is a little better at most of it than FI though.  But I have to relate that back to that one SATC quote about how BFFs are probably really our soulmates, not the people we marry.

And I have to share - the third one about calling your asss out...well BFF and I will validate each other when we're both being BSC for about 5 minutes.  Long enough to get it out...all of it.  And then neither one of us is afraid to look at the other one and tell them they're being ridiculous.  She's probably the first person to do this and not have me fall apart.  *happy contented sigh*

I hurt my back a while ago and it has been driving me absolutely insane.

A week or two ago I was in so much pain that I seriously couldn't sit up... I was stuck in my bed with my knees bent because if I moved them at all I had GAHHH TERRIBLE PAIN GRRRR. I had been stuck for over 2 horus before I texted BF and he came over without me asking. He ran a bath for me and helped me get in there and get out, and tucked me in.

Things like that REALLY show me that he loves me, especially since when I'm in pain I get very moody. Every time I'm sick or hurt I end up loving him more and more! I just can't believe he's willing to help me with so much.

My BFF fits all of this.. I'm sad that she lives 2.5 hours away and is having the sickest year of her life. She finds out tomorrow morning if she needs another surgery.... and for sure I'm there for her if she does. She's been there for me, through more than what I thought I could bare. There are times when I wish so bad we could just do nothing together on a regular basis. I miss having a BFF female in my present life on a daily basis. :(

My FI fits most of this. Unless "Kirsten" day actually becomes a national holiday that he is required to celebrate, he won't watch a chick flick with me. (haha)

I'm happy to say that I'm lucky enough to have two people in my life that fit this to a T. Except my best friend may not give me oral...

...I take that back. Honestly, if I asked for it and really needed it for some reason, she'd totally do it :P

I can only hope I am the same to them, with or without oral :P
