Wedding shoes suggestions -- flats!

Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if you guys have come across any cute flats in your spring shopping. I'm looking for a wedding flat, in either a mint, light blush/rose, or maybe a softer gold (something more like rose gold rather than glitter) metallic.

I'm a little hesitant to buy speciality 'bridal' shoes and would prefer to spend $60-100 on a nice pair of well-made leather flats I could potentially wear again. My style is more understated than glitzy, and my dress has a fitted lace top (sweetheart neckline) with a floor-length tulle skirt, close to the body and not too wide.

Something like this maybe? I'm just a little indecisive and thought I'd try crowdsurfing. What are you ladies seeing and loving so far? Thanks!

have you looked on zappos?  I love their selection of shoes.
  • I'm wearing flats also. I don't have a pic of my shoes because I'm actually wearing the same ones my sister wore in her wedding last year. But they are silvery and sparkly flats. I wouldn't be happy in heels, and even considered just wearing flip flops (fancy of course), because really if you think about it, no one will see your shoes, your dress probably covers your foot anyway :)

  • I am also wearing flats, for multiple reasons.  Comfort, not wanting to be taller than my fiance, etc.  Plus, I agree with the previous poster-who is going to see your shoes? :)

I recently bough these, and can't wait to wear them for my wedding.  They come in a variety of colors, and are very cheap  (I got one of the pink shades, and will be able to wear it with several of my spring dresses)

I'm wearing a simple flat from Born (but in a pale blue they no longer have available).  I have another style in the nude shade that are a non-distracting flesh tone.  Our wedding is taking place outdoors in a historic venue with lots of brick and crushed shell walkways.  I wanted something comfortable that I could dance all night.  Peep toes were out as nothing more annoying than sand/shell in the shoes.
  • @newborndoc2008 Those are really simple and cute. Do you have experience with that brand and know if they are comfy? I'm scared of flats because I've gotten some cheap ones that rub against the heel and blister instantly but those look really nice.

  • They are the softest leather ever.  The also have a padded insole and a decent arch support.  They last forever if you treat them well.  As a doctor, they're a go to brand for being on your feet all day and needing to be able to run in an emergency while still being cute and not drab.  You can find Born at some of the bigger department stores (Nordstrom, Macys) or try Zappos for the free return shipping if you just want to try them on.
  • @ekb10 Maybe something like this - Born

I just bought a gorgeous pair of gold glitter flats from my local walmart for $13. Very comfy. You just gotta look around, outside of wedding specific stores. That'll save you money too.

  • You are being smart, invest in some comfortable flats that you can wear again. If you want to dress them up, you can always check for pretty shoe clips on etsy. Target and payless have some cute ones right now. Or look at Clarks brand or even Dr. Scholl's. I have a pair of Gold (no glitter) Dr. School ballet flats and LOVE them. I can wear them forever & it's like wearing slippers.

My biggest money regret was getting "bridal shoes" now that $70.00 for a pair of shoes that I won't be able to wear again, cute yes, but a waste, yes
