Including Fiance's Cousins in Special Roles?

The majority of our guests are my fiance's family, and he is very close to his family.   I am trying to come up with some roles for some of his teenage cousins and his nephews in the wedding to honor their importance in my fiance's life and would appreciate some advice.
I have already chosen the ringbearer, who is a really special kid to me.  However, my fiance has a nephew who is the same age, and I feel kind of bad for not having asked him.  I am now thinking of having both of them be ringbearers, each one carrying one ring each.  They would come down the aisle together.  Does anyone think this would work well?  They are both 8 years old.

Other roles I have in mind for some of the teenage cousins are handing out programs as guests enter, helping decorate, doing a reading, and Mc'ing.  Does anyone have any other ideas?  Also, are these roles an honor, or are they "jobs"?  I hate to make anyone feel like they are "working" my wedding.

Thank you!

  • Something that my aunt has done with me and my cousin, was usher, and tend to the guest book, also making a speech at the wedding. I think having both as ring bearers would be super cute! It's you're wedding, do what you like! Assuming they are females, they could be brides special ladies and carry the train? Ask them if they would like to help with decorations. Don't say the word job or chore.

@sorensolee85 This thread is from 2011. FWIW, tending the guest book and carrying the train are NOT special roles. They are jobs. If you want someone to set up decorations, hire someone.
