I just scheduled my boudoir photoshoot for next Friday! I'm nervous and excited. I wish a was a couple pounds thinner (don't we all) but I know with the right poses/lingerie/lighting I should look good.

I get three outfit changes and I'm trying to decide...I want to do one bridal outfit. White sheer lingerie, my bridal shoes and veil.

For the second one I was thinking of wearing my FI's uniform shirt (he's a police officer), a push-up bra, booty shorts and knee high leather boots. Maybe hold some handcuffs. I want to be subtle about it, do you think this is a good idea?

For the third outfit I'm torn between wearing a black garter slip and thigh highs(classic sexy) and this pretty vintage lingerie and costume pearls. I'm really fair skinned and It's a peach color that looks good with my skin-tone.

Is any one else doing one. what are you wearing or did you wear?

I just had the photo shoot. I ended up wearing white bridal lingerie, a black outfit with thigh highs and the peach vintage outfit with pearls. I did one shot with handcuffs for a subtle nod to his job. I think it went great!

Re: Boudoir Photoshoot outfits..UPDATE

  • I'm doing mine on the 26th - taking advantage of having my hair trial that same day! I bought a Groupon, so I just get a 30 minute session with one outfit. My fiance is a boob guy, so I'm just wearing a lacy push-up bra and panties. Keeping it simple, but hopefully sexy...if I can get past the awkwardness! I am probably the furthest thing from sexy. Pole dancing lessons resulted in massive bruises on my feet. *sigh* the things I do for this man!

For your second outfit, I think I would forego the handcuffs and leather boots in favor of the uniform shirt, push-up bra, and a sexy pair of panties...but that's just me. For the third, I'd go with the vintage lingerie!

I'll be curious to hear how it goes! I'm SUPER nervous!

I had a blast when I did mine years ag. I also had three outfits. I picked two and let FI pick one outfit.

    1) Purple push-up bra and matching panties, sheer floral robe, diamond and citrine jewelry, nude heels

    2) teal and black lace cami and booty shorts, nude heels

    3) black corset, red panties, red heels, long pearl necklace, and a Caps hat (this was FI's outfit choice)

I agree with PP, I'd probably skip the boots if you are wearing black thigh highs with another out fit. There's not much subtle about that. I think going more natural with the shirt and maybe shoeless would be better. This is from a photographer's friend's site, I would do something like these with the shirt:  http://jennarosephotography.blogspot.com/2013/04/jessica-grand-rapids-boudoir.html

Regarding your question about your second outfit, I think it could work.  You should talk to your photographer and tell her what you want and she will probably be able to help you achieve that look.
Some examples of police themed boudoir photos:

  • Hi, my fiance is a cop too and I question if he'd find outfit 2 sexy. I'd be worried his work shirt would remind him of work and dealing with unruly people.. That's just him/me though. I do think the leather boots and handcuffs might be a bit much.
  • Silly question:  Would your FI find you doing 'sexy shots' in his work shirt somewhat disrespectful?  I know some police officers/military personnel that take their positions very seriously and they wouldn't be 100% happy if their significant others did a boudoir shot using part of their uniform.  Just something I thought I'd throw out there.

  • I had thought about that too @dignity. I just know his job is such a big part of him and I don't think he would mind, but since this is a suprise for him so I can't double check maybe I will forgo it.
  • Also, does his police department have any policy about letting others wear uniform pieces?  I'd hate to see the photos get out and him get in trouble at work for you wearing (or provocatively wearing) some of the uniform.
