So, I'm working on purchasing gifts for my Bridesmaids, and most of them I either know what to buy or I have a good idea what I'm getting them. (Thank God for Etsy favorites man) but one of my BM's is stumping me a bit. We don't talk very often, conflicting schedules and what not, so while 3 years ago I would have been much more confident about what to get her, now I'm like "OMG WHAT IF I GET HER SOMETHING SHE DOESN'T LIKE!"

But, she's BIG into Colonial America, (Loves Ben Franklin) and goes on road-trips and geo-caching in her free time. Likes Beer.

So, I figured, knowing that some knotties are big history buffs, and big beer fans, I might get some suggestions that will lead me down the right path.

Help me please. I'll post cute gifs of your choice of animal.

About 50-75 bucks. I'm also going to pick her up some wine from the PA Renn Faire winery ( I know she likes that, just don't want to give her JUST that), I'm looking at spending about 75-100 total on each BM.

I got my MOH a Thomas Jefferson bobble head. I think they have a Ben Franklin. And a framed quote from TJ, as well as wine from his estate, I think he's her favorite person to have ever lived.

Are there any historical sites in your area? Here in MA, we have a place that's an old colonial village from the 1600's. It's all the original buildings- a school, a bank, a welder's shop, farm, homes, etc. It's a huge tourist attraction because the people who work there are dressed in period clothing and teach you how to churn butter and make pottery and weave. I would like if someone gave me tickets to there since it's neat but I only get around to going once every decade.

Are you talking about Plymouth? I went there as a kid and remembered it being super fun.

If you're anywhere near Williamsburg, VA, there are a lot of shops with colonial-style kitchenware, silver, and other fun history gifts.

@chibiyui - she might like one of the cookbooks from City Tavern in Phillie. They do colonial recipes in the traditional way. My H & I ate there last year and it was awesome.

@chibiyui - While we were there, they were having a special pre-order sale for the new dessert cookbook. If you took advantage at that time, you got a signed copy.

Life sort of went haywire for me last fall, so I haven't had a chance to get into yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

@jenna8984 I thought you might be talking about OSV. Reminded me I should go out there again soon. I was a member for like a year but don't think I've been back since SO, his daughter and I went for Father's Day 2 years ago. Love that place.

Oh and side note a guy I went to high school with actually works as one of the blacksmiths. Always amusing seeing him in his period clothing.
