October Wedding! Help! Suite Reception?

Hello out there,

My fiancé and I are planning to wed in Vegas in late October of this year. Initially we were looking to make it simple and just choose a pre-package ceremony and reception. However, the more we look into it, the more we want to make it a bit different. We are expecting 60-75 people.

I think that I want a ceremony on the strip. Can anyone recommend their favourite ceremony locations? I've looked at Caesars and the Flamingo mostly so far, but I'm open to anything really. Non-denominational ceremony.

And we've been considering looking into the in-suite reception idea. I feel like this would be a unique, relaxed option. Preferably a room with a view. Obviously this would have to be catered. Can anyone give me any insight into this style of reception. Some suites look amazing. I'm assuming they aren't cheap.

Anyhow, I am open to ALL helpful hints and recommendations! I would be super grateful... We want to save the date this week! :)

Re: October Wedding! Help! Suite Reception?

  • Hi there! I am getting married at Caesars and was originally looking into having an in-suit reception there also. I asked my WC about it and she sent me information on their suites and group dining options. Gave me the feeling that they didn't like any outside catering being involved. We wound up just booking a restaurant due to cost. Oh yeah, Caesars gives you the option of a religious ceremony or non-denominational.
  • For 60+, the only two suite options I know of are the Stardust at the Orleans or one of the Palms super fantasy suites which run in the $10k/night+ range. The Stardust starts at $4k but you're paying for catering, not the room, so it's actually a pretty reasonable deal.  More options/ideas on my website in my signature.

You're cutting it close as far as getting invites, etc. out for October though, since you don't have any planning from a vendor perspective done yet.  What I mean is there is a lot to nail down in writing before you could safely send invites, and you need to get invites out asap so people have time to plan/save/book their travel or you may have less attendees than expected because rates spike.

  • The Palms have some amazing suites that are big enough and they will definitely negotiate the price with you, but you will have to use their catering.  pm me if you have any questions!
  • I too have been pleasantly surprised by the prices at the Palms for suites. In addition, their catering prices are high but certainly not absurd like some others I have seen.

  • I'm adding the Palms suites to my list to check out for sure.  They look very nice.

  • We are doing an in suite reception. I like the idea of a more relaxed atmosphere which allows our guests to move around more freely and do whatever they want instead of a more traditional sit down dinner.

  • If you're already looking at Caesar's, Joe's in the forum shops has a private room that would be really great for that size group.  The room minimum was 5k and most meal packages were in the 60-80 pp range plus alcohol.

I don't have any insight into the in-suite like some other posters, I'll leave those recommendations to them :)
  • Hey @dawnish02 ... Who is your coordinator? I'm getting married at Caesars & doing an in suite reception with outside catering. She only told me they prefer the catering to be in house, not that I couldn't do it!
  • Hey Samcintyre, it's Melissa and she's great. She never said we couldn't do it. I just had the feeling that they would prefer in-house. When is your big day? Mine's coming up this Saturday and I'm so excited! I'll be sure to post reviews.
  • dawnish02  Saturday - yeah, congrats!  Looking forward to your reviews!
