Scheduling

I just need some opinions on scheduling for our wedding. Right now I can think of a couple scenarios that I really like but I am having trouble deciding which would be best for my guests. Let me know what you think. Our wedding will be next March at the Cosmopolitan - likely Friday the 13th :)

Scenario #1:
Ceremony starts around 3:00 in the afternoon
Cocktails and Appetizers in the Wedding Suite
Get a limo to take us over to the High Roller
Dinner after that (most likely back at the Cosmo - Wicked Spoon)

Scenario #2
Ceremony starts around 5:00
Cocktails and Appetizers in the Wedding Suite
Dinner at Wicked Spoon
Limo to High Roller

Do either of these make sense to do? I know #1 gives a break between appetizers and the meal and likely it will be a large meal since it's a buffet but does #2 seem rushy? Would people want to spend more time over at the Linq area? I've never been there so I have no idea of there are other things to do around there... Thanks!

Re: Scheduling

  • I prefer scenario 2 because in my opinion the High Roller would be awesome at night after dinner. Then your guests can hang out around the Linq or you guys could all hit a bar or something after.

  • I like option #2, but you could even maybe eliminate the appetizers in suite because of the buffet - they will certainly get plenty of food there - so if you wanted to offer your guests something between ceremony and dinner, you could maybe just do some drinks in suite, then off to dinner. The Linq is a great spot - several places to grab drinks, people watch, etc. and Brooklyn Bowl is a fun atmosphere.. you and your guests may find yourselves wanting to spend more time than you'd think down at The Linq.

    I'm also a March 2015 bride - yay!

  • I would say....it depends on how much your guests will drink at dinner, regarding wether to do high roller after. If they're anything like my guests....I'd say do it before dinner.

  • I like both but it really depends on your timeline. How long are you planning on spending at the Linq? I slightly prefer option 2 but it's very likely many guests will be pretty full from the apps. I love the idea of serving food during a cocktail reception but personally I'm not very hungry for dinner immediately after.

  • Ok, I'm leaning towards #2 without apps after the ceremony - just a champagne toast. I think my guests would like to spend more time at the Linq so I don't want to limit them by needing to leave for dinner. Plus, it saves some $ which is always a good thing :) Thanks for all the input!
