What is everyone up to today?

It is DD's Bridal Shower today!  I am pretty pumped, we will have a great time I am sure.  Her girls have put together a lovely shower.  She has been home since Thursday and we have gotten so much done for the wedding.  Spent some great time together too.  She will be back in Mid May for her brother's Eagle Scout Court of Honor and her second fitting.

What are  you all doing today?

Re: What is everyone up to today?

  • That sounds like a great time- and more fun than me! I'm at the laundromat dealing with a ton of laundry (3 people, 2 weeks) as we replaced the broken washer/got a new dryer but have not yet hooked them up. Somehow a minor change always becomes a bigger change (moving the plumbing)!

    Next stop: grocery shopping!
I really know how to plan an exciting weekend!

  • Its my bachelorette party day!!
At 5 everyone is meeting at my house and then my cousin, who is my MOH, will let us know exactly what we are doing. All she told us is that it will be in manhattan and it involves dinner. :)

My washer, dryer, and dishwasher rank just under oxygen  in importance in my life.  Hope you get them hooked up soon.

    Have a blast!
  • Today is laundry and cleaning around my apartment, making chicken pot pie and then BF and I are seeing Captain America with friends…yay!

Totally random, but FI is an Eagle Scout too! He's an adult volunteer with the STEM program and is on the Advancement Committee that evaluates Eagle Scout projects to see if they fulfill the requirements. He's actually out at a Boy Scout event all day today.

My sinus infection has now spread to my bronchial tubes (which is typically what happens, because my immune system is hateful like that). I plan to spend the day laying on the couch so I have a comfy spot to do some Knotting and finish making paper flowers.

  • So far, not terribly much. I didn't sleep especially well last night and all I want is a liquefied human brain in a cup. Starbucks doesn't offer that. I forgot to grab my lamp before I sat down, so since Ellie-cat is firmly ensconced in my lap, I can't get it now and I can't knit. It's about a billion degrees in my apartment because spring is drunk and the temp went up 20 degrees last night. Thus far today is apparently "Stitches whines" day.

I know BF and I are getting all dressed up and going out to dinner tonight. I have no idea where we're going to eat, but any excuse to dress up, right?
  • Just waking up.  DH has to work today.  :(  My Mom has been super bored all week with nothing to do on Spring Break, so I was trying to think of something to do with her today, but we can't come up with anything.  It might just end up being lunch.  Maybe we'll go crash show homes to see what's new

  • I intended to mow the grass and couldn't get the mower to start. So I made an executive decision to hire the landscapers we used last year to just come take care of it for me instead. I don't have time to be dicking around with that!

  • Have fun at the shower.

I did my normal Saturday cleaning and started laundry.  We are about to leave to go up to the peak at Aspen Mountain for lunch.   I also need to exchange our internet modem.     Not sure what the  rest of the day looks like.   DH actually has 2 days off in a row, woohoo.

  • Picked up my dress from DB today! Thought I would fall back in love with it when I saw it again but nope. Sigh. Now I'm just waiting for FI to get home from work and then we're off to go shopping for stuff for our bathrooms in the new house and a lawn mower. So pretty much I'll end up following FI around Home Depot until he finds the things he wants.
  • We did dishes earlier and tonight we have plans of watching something on Netflix and vegging.

  • Wow! Sounds like everyone has fun plans. I'm doing some homework and looking for a place to live. A little less fun, but both necessary.

  • DH and I played hockey, and I fell a lot, so I'm scraped up and sore.

Currently I'm making cookies for my religious ed kids for tomorrow, as well as brownies for DH.

We're going out to B-Dubs later for wings and beers with a friend, and probably watching the Final Four.

I cleaned and tidied today, and am making DH sort through crap that's his that we don't need (BIL and SIL gave us three 8x10, four 5x7, and six 3x5 photos of them and their kid at Christmas. NO ONE NEEDS OR WANTS that many photos of their brother, his wife, and their kid.)

I am jealous of Addie having enough grass to need to mow! It's not that warm here.

    Have fun, @kmmssg!

I'm must shaking my head right now. 13 pictures?  I don't even have that many 8x10's of us, let alone others. Crazy

  • ..... I'm on my lunch break and found two adorable pairs of shoes on clearance for 14.80. Ones black peep toe pumps with a little bow, the other is a fun teal peep toe t-strap sandal. Both are leather.

    Sorry, had to share/brag. :)

  • Went to look for shoes for SO's daughters Easter dress for bunny pictures, was very unsuccessful. Waited a couple hours for the plumber whose been here 3 days in a row but finally fixed the water so yay for that.

Now making homemade Mac and cheese because the boyfriend has been requesting it repeatedly and I meant to make it yesterday but was too tired. Oh and also probably baking cookies and making a blue raspberry cocktail. I'm really not very exciting.

@kmmssg I had a dishwasher up until SO and I moved here last September. Didn't realize how much I would miss it, pretty sure 80% of our disagreements are dishes related. We are looking for a new place and a dishwasher is at the top of the list. No washer/dryer and $3.50 for a load of laundry also sucks, but no dishwasher is worse.

I know, right?! And DH and I disagree on how many to keep. I say two; one of the whole family and one of just the kid. He wants to keep them all but, 'Not do anything with them. Like not frame them or anything. Just keep them in a box. Because we can't throw them away.'

Oh yes we can and oh yes we will.

I can't throw pictures away.  Even if they are dups.  I just can't.  So I would be like your husband and keep them in a box with other pictures I no longer display.   Right now I have a pretty big plastic tub of them and I'm okay with that.

Hmmm. If he agrees to clean out one of the eight plastics tubs he already has that are full of crap, I might consider that.

    :)

I need a nice way to tell SIL not to give us so many photos this year.

  • I slept late, got lunch and a pedicure, went to my mom's and printed some stuff out on her printer, went with her to check out our new Nordstrom Rack, and then went to the grocery store. Whew. She's coming over tomorrow to help me with some leaf removal in my front flowerbeds.
