Does anyone else have wood laminate flooring in their homes?  The place we are currently renting has a first floor that is all laminate.  The stairs are real wood.  What do you find to be the best cleaning method for the laminate?  I always vacuum with the hard wood attachment first, then swiffer or steam mop.  It always looks like there is a lot of dirt and grime coming up with the swiffer or steam mop, but I just don't think they look as clean and new as I would like. 

I clean them at least once a week and we do have a dog, so I need something that isn't damaging and is dog friendly.

    Oh, I am most certainly not replacing the flooring in a rental!  (Sorry if that is bratty to say).  My steam mop is the shark.

    My parents have high-quality wood laminate in their home and my mom uses Orange Glo. It might just be the quality of the laminate you have there. My mom never has that problem with her floors, whereas my neighbor has the same problem as you. Their landlord put in cheap laminate.

    FI just installed a high quality laminate in our living room. We would have preferred wood but, between the cost and his son's tendency to destroy things, we decided to go laminate. (The kid has managed to break 3 tiles in the kitchen and rip his carpet!) It looks beautiful and has been easy to keep clean. We use Orange Glo from time to time but mostly just sweep and Swiffer. A friend has some horrible old laminate that always looks awful despite her efforts so I think it matters how well it's cared for.

    We had laminate for a hot second in another rental.  I like the swiffer WetJet mop for it.

    We have lam in our house. I find the best way to make it look clean is with a damp final wash. If you leave water on the floor it leaves water spots. So it is essential that its just damp. I vacuum it then do a thing that it a lot like a swiffer wet jet. About once a month I'll mop then swiffer to dry it.

    Sometimes the cleaner for the Swiffer WetJet can leave behind a residue. This causes dirst*** and grime to kind "stick" to the floor leaving it with a film. A really good cleanser that I use on my floors is a water and vinegar mixture.

    ***leaving the word dirst alone because apparently my mind wanted it to say "dust" and "dirt" and the same time.

    That's my favorite too! I put a little bit of lavender pinesol in it so that the house doesn't smell like vinegar. My fiance teases me for my vinegar obsession. He thinks I'm just like the dad from My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

    YES, FI hates the smell. So I usually add some lemon PineSol (but not too much or it willbe stciky).

    I'm thinking about it now. . . .when i walk around in my slippers with soles, they make a sticking noise. . . . maybe it's the film everyone is referring to!
