Shower invitation?

I work for 3 person, woman-owned/operated company. I have known my boss for a decade and have known my other coworker for a few years. Boss is a former wedding planner and has been helpful in planning. Since we're all so close, my wedding comes up a lot. Both have already received STDs.

We're also a startup and I'm the only person who gets paid at the moment (they're older and left established careers while I have major student loans). Money is tight for all of us.

My cousin is throwing a shower for me and asked who to invite. Should I include these ladies? I hate putting them on the spot to buy gifts but also don't want to leave them feeling slighted. At the same time, the guest list is getting so packed with family that I haven't included many friends on my list. And, to make things trickier, my boss has professional and social connections to a number of my family members so they'll definitely know.

What do you recommend?

    Tough call, but I'd recommend you invite them. They can decline or get you something small. They could feel left out if you didn't invite them.

    I would still invite them.

    When I go to showers and money is tight, I either make something such as a cross-stitch piece, or get a couple of small things that aren't that expensive.  It might also be that I'm the type of person that would be really sad if I didn't get invited somewhere because someone thought I didn't have enough money.

    I think they would be hurt if you didn't invite them, especially if its because of money. In the end, they will either give you a gift or not, and that is their financial choice.
