What is shabby chic?!?! All I see it as is vintage!!! Am I missing something else or is there more than just the vintage feel?

    I have never heard of this term before, so I googled it. From what I read on wikipedia, it sounds like it just means vintage/antique/to show "age".

    I googled some images and it looked either vintage or proper/pristine. Not sure how to explain it lol but from what I quickly read and saw, I'd have to agree on your use of vintage.

    Haha I would say it's pretty much vintage, maybe glammed up a little bit? Hence the "chic"

    Its definitely a glamorous version of vintage.

    For example, think of a wrought iron bed with an anthropologie type bedding. And then imagine a crystal chandelier hanging over it. = shabby chic.

    I always thoughtb of it as glam vintage, as in more refined.

    yup, chabby chic is vintage glam. Vintage = an old wooden desk, worn and weathered. Rusted hardware and natural vignetting to the wood. Chabby chic = generally lighter paint jobs that are worn (Either naturally or purposefully) with more glam details like crystal nobs, etc.
