So FI and I went wedding ring shopping yesterday. We were there until after the store closed because I couldn't find anything I liked. My ring is a solitaire, but it's set a little different than most solitaires so the rings they had weren't going with it. So after all that, I finally picked a ring and let the poor people who stayed late go home.
Fast forward to last night: I had to give them my engagement ring so they could configure it with the ring I chose since it didn't fit together perfectly. I couldn't sleep all night. I kept thinking how I picked the wrong ring and I was going to have to wear this ring forever and I wasn't even sure I liked it. I was also freaking out that they had already started to put the rings together and my beautiful engagement ring was going to be ruined.
So this morning I was literally waiting next to my phone until 9:00 when the store opened. I called and asked them if they started on my ring yet. They said no so I said please don't do anything. I went back to the store and spent another 2 hours there going over every possible situation that we could do for my ring; new setting (which I wasn't fond of because I love my ring), keep the ring I already bought, have the jeweler make another ring that didn't quite fit with it work, create a whole new ring, or just go with a simple band.
It was absolutely exhausting and in the end I ended up giving back the ring I purchased and picking out two bands to put on either side of my ring. That was seriously the worst decision I've had to make so far! In the end, I know I did the right thing because the first ring clearly wasn't right if it was causing me that much anxiety.
Sorry this was so long, but I just had to vent about how difficult this was. Such a long day! I'm glad I got something that I really love though. They still had to keep my engagement ring though

Now I won't have a ring to wear until after the wedding.
