    1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions? We celebrate Easter. When we were growing up my mom would hide plastic Easter eggs filled with candy around the house for us to find. We'd also dye and decorate eggs just for fun. Our tradition now is just to have family dinner at home which is usually a ham, potatoes, asparagus and some other dishes.

    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night? No. It was cloudy and rainy here. The last lunar eclipse I watched was in 2000 or something and the moon was red for that one too.
    3. Is it spring yet? Apparently not in Georgia...low of 31 tonight and 39 tomorrow...ugghhhhh. We need to bring all of our baby plants inside.

    4. What is the best Easter related sweet? The hollow chocolate bunnies.

    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds? I'd love to rent a beach house and spend a week right on the beach. Preferably not somewhere like Destin or Panama City where there are a ton of people. I'd rather go somewhere quiet and less touristy with dog friendly beaches.

  • 1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions?
Yes, I celebrate Easter. My traditions for Easter are to attend Easter service on Sunday and afterwards my mom usually cooks a big Easter dinner with Ham. Growing up we usually do Easter baskets as well and we still do them today. I'm going to make H one this year. When we were young, mom had an Easter Egg Hunt for us in the house and out in the yard.
    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night?
Negative, I didn't know there was one.
    3. Is it spring yet?
YES! But the weather sucks today.
    4. What is the best Easter related sweet?
    Cadburry Eggs duh.
    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds?
I would like to go to an all-inclusive resort on the beach with H. It could be anywhere as long as it was on the beach.
    6. Add your own.  :)
I refuse to add my own question! Hate this question!
  • 1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions?
we celebrate Easter!  my mom still makes us Easter baskets.  we get together with my family and my grandma and have lunch together after church.

    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night?
nope!  I wanted to, but I took a benadryl and actually got some sleep tonight.  I'll catch the next one!

    3. Is it spring yet?

Snickers eggs!!!  Reeses eggs are right after that.  OH YUM.

    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds?
I love this question!!  we would love to visit Charleston or Puerto Rico.  those are our two dream vacay spots for when we get to go somewhere next.  we would stay in a B&B or small boutique hotel, see all the sights and eat all kinds of yummy food and sleep and walk on the beach!

    6. How do you take your morning cup of joe?
at home/during the week, I usually brew a cup in my Keurig and add a splash of whole milk.  on the weekends, I like to get iced coffees/lattes with whole milk in the warm weather, and extra-frothy lattes with a drizzle of syrup in the cold weather.

    1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions?

Yes - Easter. We usually go to church with my MIL, BIL&SIL. Then we dash over to my grandparent's country club for brunch and our goofy card exchange. Then we usually end up back at my MIL's house for a ham dinner. My MIL and my mom (when she's in town) still make us Easter baskets which I think is fun!

    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night?

No, I didn't know there was going to be one. But I did notice the full moon earlier in the evening. Beautiful!

    3. Is it spring yet?

I wish. No idea if it is technically spring...but considering there was snow on the ground here yesterday, I'm not feeling very springy.

    4. What is the best Easter related sweet?

I'm not a big easter sweets person. Maybe the Cadbury Caramel Eggs. NOT the creame ones.

    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds?

Anythere with a beach! H and I did a lot of vacation shopping this year, but decided not to pull the trigger on anything. We are considering beginning TTC later this year and really wanted to save our pennies. I think if we had unlimited funds we'd go to Norway. It's been on the top of our list for a while now...but of course it's one of the most expensive travel destinations ever. Boo!

    6. What is your favorite article of clothing you own?

I just bought a cute pair of ankle-length skinny jeans. I certainly never thought i'd be able to pull off skinny jeans, but they look super cute on my! Now I feel thiner, more trendy AND...they're super comfortable!

    Other's Questions:

@CocoBellaF - I'm not a huge coffee drinker. If I do treat myself to a cup of joe...it's usually a non-fat white mocha. mmmm...

@Imcooper86 - I take public transit, specifically the Light Rail. I love it because I get to read, I don't have to worry about weather or traffic...and my company pays for my pass, so I save moolah!

@Peaseblossom55 - I'm looking forward to my mom's visit! She flies in TONIGHT and I'm so excited I can hardly concentrate on work!

@Buddysmom80 - We love lawn games. I have a whole "Just playing around" board on Pinterest! We love Goofy/Ladder Golf, Lawn Scrabble, Twister, Bean Bags, Frisbee Toss, Bocce Ball...

@Bananasplit472001 - I love cooking period. I love trying new recipes! Doesn't matter what it is...it always seems to turn out best the first time I make it. (Maybe because I actually follow the recipe exactly instead of making my own tweaks!)

@CASK85 - My last sick day was probably a month or two ago. I had an awful migraine that was so debilitating I didn't go to work. Luckily my boss completely understands because she gets migraines too.

@Allusive007 's question: What is your favorite article of clothing you own?
in the warmer months, I have a shirtdress that I bought from GAP on a huge sale and added some lace to the bottom of it.  I love to throw that on with a skinny belt and some sandals.  the only thing is it has to be ironed because it gets wrinkly, but I love it!
in the colder months, I have an open chunky cardigan that I love to wear over EVERYTHING.
I am currently crushing on THIS jacket.  I really want to buy it, but I can't pull the trigger.

@peaseblossom55 's question:  What are you looking forward to this month?
I am looking forward to the Arts Festival and the Food Truck night (one night a month, all the food trucks gather in one spot and they have music, fun, and food from 7-11 PM).  I'm also looking forward to my students' recital next Thursday... and my house getting cleaned TOMORROW.

@lmcooper86 's question:  Do you drive or take transit?
I drive.  my area doesn't have a good public transit system.  if we did have a public transit, H and I would take it.  we LOVED the T when we visited Boston!
  • 1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions? FI is Catholic so he celebrates Easter, I'm just in it for the candy. We don't have any traditions, just hanging out at home this year.

    3. Is it spring yet? This past weekend was BEAUTIFUL so I'm going to say yes.

    4. What is the best Easter related sweet? Cadbury Cream Eggs

  • @buddysmom80 's question:  What are some fun outdoor games for a barbecue or picnic (like lawn darts, remember those???)
bocce ball is really popular around here, and croquet, too.  I don't know too many lawn games to play, actually, but we're hosting a young adults (singles and marrieds) get-together this June so I need to figure some out!!

    Additional questions:
What are some fun outdoor games for a barbecue or picnic? Cornhole or kubb (linky). Also ladder golf, but not the shitty plastic version you buy in the store. It's better when you make it yourself out of pvc pipe.

Do you drive or take transit? I drive. There is no public transit between my house and my office. At my old job I used to drive to the bus station. Take the bus, and then the bus line ended so I had to get on the train for 3 stops for the rest of my commute.

What are you looking forward to this month? Charleston trip with @southernpeach89, our mom, and our great aunt!

What is your favorite article of clothing you own? Lately my new brown sandals. But I also love my new green elbow length sleeved t shirt from the Loft.

How do you take your morning cup of joe? Black or with a little skim milk. We grind our own beans at home and brew them in our French Press.

  • 1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions? I celebrate Easter. We always go to my mom's place for dinner with her side of the family. There's always a ham and raisin sauce (made to taste by my mom and me). The rest of the menu is negotiable year-to-year. When we were kids, my brother, my second cousins, and I used to hunt for Easter eggs in the basement. My dad hid them for us. He color-coded them with garage sale stickers, and you were only allowed to collect the eggs of your color.
    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night? Hell no. I needed sleep.
    3. Is it spring yet? Fuck no. Yesterday it was snowing so hard we were down to 0.25 mile visibility. Again. Didn't stick, though.
    4. What is the best Easter related sweet? Cadbury Caramel Eggs
    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds? I only get one week? That's not enough time to backpack the Civil War battlefields, which is on my bucket list. Hmm. I guess with one week I'd do Manassas and Appomatox Courthouse.
    6. How do you take your morning cup of joe? When I'm treating myself at Starbucks, filled with so much syrup, milk, and chocolate it's a dessert.
    7. What are you looking forward to this month? Getting some goddamn real research done (oh please oh please ...) or writing another chapter for my dissertation. Getting back inspection results. Learning whether the tile in the basement really is asbestos. Sucky things to look forward to but they should lower my overall stress levels.
    8. What is your favorite article of clothing you own? Any and all pairs of polarfleece pajamas.
    9. Do you drive or take transit? FI and I carpool, and he drives. The bus system up here is pretty good, though - comes from being in a college town.
    10. What are some fun outdoor games for a barbecue or picnic (like lawn darts, remember those???) I like croquet.

  • @Allusive007 - I recently bought this dress from JCP (LINK)... I'm going to wear it to church on Sunday.  not really Easter-y, but oh well!  I really love the way it fits on me, and I'm sure it'll be come a fast new favorite.

another new question:  what skin-care product do you absolutely LOVE and why?
I use an all-natural (you could actually ingest it) skin cleanser for sensitive skin that I buy at Sprout's.  I use Aveeno SPF 15-30 moisturizer in the mornings (depends on if I'm going to be inside or outside) and last night I bought some Neutrogena retinol night-time skin moisturizer to use at night.  I love the cleanser... it doesn't really treat acne per se, but it is very gentle and makes my skin look very soft, unlike other cleansers (which make my skin red and blotchy and dry ... or really oily).
  • 1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions? I celebrate Easter, But I don't think we are doing anything this year. DH has been OOT since last Wednesday and he won't get back until tomorrow. . . so, we will probably just stay home. Maybe I'll make a special dinner. Back home we always dyed eggs with the whole family before Easter, and then on Easter Sunday we would have dinner at Grandma's house.
    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night? No, it was cloudy here anyway.
    3. Is it spring yet? It was spring for the last week or so, but not today. I'd say it is spring though - the flowers are blooming and the trees too!
    4. What is the best Easter related sweet? Those mini chocolate eggs from Cadbury with the candy coating. I could eat the whole bag.
    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds? I would go back to my family vacation spot in Canada. I'd stay in the little cabin we always stayed in. I'd use the "unlimited" money to bring a boat and other water toys, as well as spend it on awesome food for cook outs. Swim and hike all day, star gaze all night. I love that place.
    6. How do you take your morning cup of joe? Black.
    7. What are you looking forward to this month? Not a lot, really. I'm looking forward more to next month when I'll be traveling for work to Maine and to Boston.
    8. What is your favorite article of clothing you own? My my, that is a hard question. Probably my new cowboy boots that DH got me for my birthday. They are pretty sweet!
    9. Do you drive or take transit? Metro for this girl. I still don't own a car, even though I said I'd get one when I moved to the DC area. I wouldn't drive to work though either way.

Hmm Idk if I have a favorite thing to cook. But I cook chicken and green beans a lot.

    12. When is the last sick day you took, and why?
For myself? It was sometime last month I took a half day because my allergies were insane. I took a sorta sick day yesterday because Little O was home sick. She was up all night the night before, so she stayed home from school. And I "worked" from home. I guess I did some stuff, but mostly I snuggled on the couch all day.

  • @CocoBellaF - I love your Easter dress! I think it's perfect. I actually just bought a dress at Ross (sorry, no pic) that looks very similar in shape to yours, but it's black & white. I was thinking of making it my Easter dress with a kelly green sweater!
  • HA - I changed these all to Question 6!

    6.  What is your favorite thing to cook?  Anything in the crock pot

    6.  what skin-care product do you absolutely LOVE and why?  I stink at being a girl :( .  Probably my facial scrub (for sensitive acne prone skin) it's not even a good one (St. Ives).

    6. When is the last sick day you took, and why?  Probably before most of you were out of high school/college (probably 2004?)  - I had laryngitis and was working at a technical support desk (phone support).

  • 1. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover or both? What are your traditions? Used to celebrate Easter but feel weird doing it anymore (I'm not religious). My family didn't usually do too much, just church and some Easter candy.

    2. Did you watch the lunar eclipse last night? I got up to see it but it was sooooo cloudy and rainy! >:( Was it gorgeous???

    3. Is it spring yet? Supposedly temperatures will be below freezing where I am on TH. So apparently not.

    4. What is the best Easter related sweet? I don't discriminate when it comes to sweets.

    5. What is your ideal summer vacation if you had a week off from work and unlimited funds? Right now I reeeeaaaally want to go to Orcas Island, WA, so I'm gonna say that.

    6. Add your own.  :)Which would you rather have: one intimate soul mate with no other friends, or no soul mate but many other good friends?
  • 6. How do you take your morning cup of joe? I do not; I don't like coffee. I have been known to drink Diet Coke in the morning though.

    6. What are you looking forward to this month? BFF's wedding!

    6. What is your favorite article of clothing you own? I just bought this pretty navy top I'm pretty wild about.

    6. Do you drive or take transit? Drive unless I'm going to DC in which case, hellooooo Metro.

    6. What are some fun outdoor games for a barbecue or picnic (like lawn darts, remember those???) Bocci ball, croquet, badminton, volleyball.

    6.  What is your favorite thing to cook? Nacho Pot Pie.

    6.  what skin-care product do you absolutely LOVE and why? I'm not sure yet because I seem to be missing my girl gene, but I made my first excursion into Sephora last night and the lady gave me this awesome sample of a face mask to help with blackheads. So I guess I'm fond of that one.

    6. When is the last sick day you took, and why? It was at least six months ago. Probably in October or something. I was sick; I think I had a fever and sore throat and stuff.
